HomeSo, what did you use when jailbreaking your ipod/iphone? i'm trying to find one for my current version of firmware (4.3.2, 4th gen) but havent had any luck so far, but in the past i find redsn0w the most reliable. also, jailbroken app recommendations.

Jailbreaking for me resulted in a bunch of crashes every 3 minutes. + extended time for startup, because it was jailbroken, and all the free awesome stuff made everything slow and impossible.

Jailbreaking itself no, however some of the content is. Last jailbreak i had was a fucking "tethered" jailbreak which meant i couldnt restart the damn thing without having to take it to a computer to reboot it. But, the one before that worked like a charm, had no issues whatsoever besides the long startup times (around a minute or two) but it isnt like i restart my ipod often.Jarvisd wrote:Isn't jailbreaking illegal?

I jailbroke mine a few years back, kept crashing so I restored it, still, I miss my emulators. Also yeah, jailbreaking is legal, it was funny, a few years back when the first jailbreaks came out, apple made a big deal about it and took it to court only to have it be declared legal

I jailbroke my Ipod when I first got it about 8 months ago, I used GreenPois0n. It's untethered and I have barely seen any kind of lag changes and it never crashes.

I think the only time I needed to check out a walkthrough was where you had to tell a "code" and the code was actually just waiting and do nothing for 5 seconds. I was like wth how am I going to find that code. (Yes I'm speaking about Earthbound/Mother 2).

Bringing this back on topic, i personally like greenpois0n for my iPod 3rd gen 4.2.1. As it doesn't slow down or lag too bad, and when it runs out of battery it doesn't get bricked or anything. On the downside however, there is the long start up time.
Anyways, nice things to have:
