    Doctor Who Empty Doctor Who

    Post by FillerB 2011-04-28, 02:55

Since we had a nice "discussion" on the good Doctor before my internet started crapping itself, lets continue here.
Seeing as most of you probably havent seen much of the Old Who, let's keep those out of here. Even though the Fourth Doctor owns them all.

    Of the new Docs: 11 >>>>> 10 >= 9
Of the companions: Donna (series 4/post-character development) > Rory > Amy > Martha >>>>>>> Rose >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Donna (The Runaway Bride/pre-character development)
Of the villains: The Master >>>>>>>>>>>>> The rest > The Cyberman > The Daleks (who have become a bloody joke)
Of the writers: Moffat >>>> RTD (on a good day) > Gatiss > The rest == RTD

    Any questions? No? Good.

Now as The Silence are without doubt one of the creepiest motherfucking villains we have had yet, what do you guys think will happen Saturday?

I have to say I agree with most of that, although, I'm not sure about Rose being thaat bad, maybe I would've put Martha and Rose the other way round, and also, Moffat = definately the best writer, The Empty Child, although shit scary, has to be one of the most memorable and well yes, scariest episodes/two parters so far, with Blink also being one of the best.

Did Moffat write the two other episodes with the Weeping Angels?

And yes, I have to say, its about time we got to see this "The Silence", although i didn't expect it to be this early, can't wait to see what happens, maybe behind that door is a control room of all those cracks/just views of time, with the silence eventually adapting the events of time to their advantage to eventually, come. (kekeke) Like what we've been hearing so much in past episodes, "The Silence is coming"...

I shall presume I am wrong though, as this doesn't really link with the astronaut at all, can't wait to see what surprises Moffat has in store for us. What a Face

I think it is rather obvious where they are going with the Silence. That room where River and Rory where in is the same as the "Fake TARDIS" from last season (the episode where Doc moves into that house "The Lodger"). The Silence are obviously using the Fake TARDIS to use cause the cracks for whatever reason.

As for other episodes the Moff has written with thank to Wikipedia:
    # "The Empty Child" / "The Doctor Dances" (2005)
    # "The Girl in the Fireplace" (2006)
    # "Blink" (2007)
    # "Time Crash" (Children in Need mini-episode, 2007)
    # "Silence in the Library" / "Forest of the Dead" (2008)
    # The End of Time, Part Two (final scene, uncredited, 2010)[55]
    # "The Eleventh Hour" (2010)
    # "The Beast Below" (2010)
    # "The Time of Angels" / "Flesh and Stone" (2010)
    # "The Pandorica Opens" / "The Big Bang" (2010)
    # "A Christmas Carol" (2010)
    # "Space" / "Time" (Comic Relief mini-episodes, 2011)
    # "The Impossible Astronaut" / "Day of the Moon" (2011)[56][57]

And about Torchwood... Children of Earth is without a doubt the best thing RTD has ever written for the Whoniverse. God that was disturbing...

I quite liked the David Tennant seasons, with him beeing just a tad better than the first one in the new series. The new doctor is a bit too excentric for my taste.

As for the companions, I would rank them like this:
    1. Rose
    2. Donna
    3. Rory & Amy
    4. -
    5. -
    6. -
    7. -
    8. -
    9. -
    10. Martha

I too find the David Tennant seasons quit a bit better than the new ones, but seeing as there is no more episodes of him, I have to go on to the more new ones. P.S isn't the UK ahead of Canada in the episode #? cuz I just watched The Impossible Astronaut P1 last Satrday.

Sigh... 10nant (see what I did there) was good as an actor, let there be no doubt about that, but the Doctor always was a lunatic. 10nant (damn I did it again) just doesn't quite capture that feel. Despite him (and 9) being head over heels with an obnoxious girl not even 1/10th (I'm on a roll) of his age, not even counting the fact that he has at least one confirmed granddaughter, always squicked the fuck out of me.

Wait a minute... did I just see you put rose as the top of the new companions? Because if so WTF? by far companions should go: 1. Face of Boe 2.Amy 3.Donna 4.Martha
9 billion trillion. Rose (Rory doesn't count cause he was pretty much a side partner (but if he did he would be between Donna and Martha))

    As for Doctors:

1.The New one (I like how he is always very happy and very rarely serious)
2.David 10ant [oh snap] (Like the new one but more serious)
3.Christoper Eckston [sorry if I spelled his name wrong] (the most serious of the new ones but still funny in some points)

    Enemy's:
Gas mask children (f***ing scary), Weeping angels (do I even have to put this here?), everyone else.

Well duh. But the episode is usually downloadable within 30 minutes of airing so it's not like the difference is that much.
