I have played both services and I personally am indifferent. Xbox has better connections and is less laggy but it is expensive. PSN is slightly more laggy but free.

why stop there? teleplay is my poison.
I only use xboxlive, ive heard it has better matching system which generally results in less lag. I just hate sony out of principle :-p

well i used to have a ps3 and i still have an xbox, my wii doesnt get used and my steam stays used whenever im on my laptop ... so overall my opinion is go for either xbox or steam because ,steam is free and the games are cheap cheap cheap and usually new games go on offers pretty quick ,xbox live does cost but it is well worth it ,the gameplay is smooth with a nice graphic quallity and the fact it also includes your communications to your friends is helpfull ,unfortunately though there is a metric shit-ton of "squeekers" that will screem the shit outa your ear drums if you go in game chat ... i hope my comment helps ...
