I've always been on Ubuntu, but I recently got kubuntu on my laptop... I'm thinking about going Debian once I'm more comfortable with stuff, and finally try out Arch and RedHat. If I don't like those; I'll probably stay using Ubuntu with KDE.

Ubuntu...KDE... you best be trolling.

Ubuntu uses Gnome by default; I like KDE more, but I like the programs Ubuntu comes with better than the ones Kubuntu has.

Gee, I'm sorry; I'm new to all this stuff... As I said, I'm planning to look around through the Linux distros... But KDE looks purrrrrtty, and Ubuntu has never failed me. (Until last night with steam, that is. >.<)

Haha. Pete who actually cares about which OS someone uses? If it works for that person, then good for him/her.

I still am, tried to install Mint last weekend via USB and never got past a hard lock on the setup section. I'm not ready to format my drives and move permanently just yet.

I have 8gb ram and windows 7, could you help me with my problem?

I have to admit the apple icon was done quite well, however I have yet to understand the point of cutting one self. If you were trying to kill yourself wouldn't you just aim for a major artery so you would bleed out super fast. I mean, if your in emotional pain why would you want additional physical pain? I just really don't understand emos.

Ubuntu is an awesome os for science related programs; for example at uni all the computers in the crystallography lab run Ubuntu for data processing all the way through to structure manipulation and graphical display.

From past experiences Ubuntu was the best linux os I ever used, but for everyday use Win7 beats everything I have ever tried hands down.

Mtbers completely misses the point. On another note, I use Win 7 and a gaming laptop :3 Come at me bro(s?)

EDIT: Don't answer that, I see now. Apple fans are insecure about their combined hardware and software that comprises the 'Apple' brand that they resort to self mutilation and permanent branding of one self to demonstrate its supposed superiority. Is that the point?

But then again my own hatred towards Apple is most likely stemmed by my own ignorance and lack of knowledge towards the brand as I've always approached this brand clash with the attitude off: I grew up with Windows and it works. So why would I change to Apple? Regardless of the fact that Apple might be better suited for some tasks which as a consequence would indicate to me that I made a judgement error and that I was incorrect in choosing Windows over Apple and for the death of me I cannot accept making a judgement error.

Easy fix = install xp, ubuntu, win7 and snow leopard on my computer.
