Donator Tower

I had a great idea for a donator tower as an extra thing donators get.
It's still in the planning phase any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
This tower will be only accessible only by People who have donated
enough to get the donator rank.
Please leave a post here if you want to help build or donate to the
construction of said tower.

I would like to say it could be filled with Donator NPCs, but damn it would be a large tower.

I don't really see the point... What do you want to do in that tower? Socialize? Share resources? Compare e-peens by placing signs of how much you have donated? Hold wild orgies with endangered animals?

Also Donators already get more than enough perks. (Don't give me that crap that other servers have even more. This isn't another server.)

EDIT: And there is the fact that, as Krel said, that the majority of donators can't be trusted to keep their shoelaces straight let alone keep "unworthies" out.

Dude, it's a TOWER! A motherfucking tower! It's unique, since there are no towers in Minecraft.

It does not have to be a tower it could be any other shape

This post made me realize that Donation on Orcworm is like the Yacht Club of the internet...

This tower idea makes me think that you think Orcworm is a 1000+ player server, when it isn't.

Backtrack a bit. WHAT are you actually going to turn Underspawn in to? We still don't know anything short of "making a thing only people with /thru can get to". You DO have a plan or at least general idea I hope?

Nvm we aren't going to use under spawn we are going to make a tower and just put a tp under spawn.

Also, the underspawn is slightly altered by the RailRoad, meaning we had to place our redstone circuitry somewhere!

A tower with WHAT!? This is crucial information people. You want to make something attractive and enticing for people to donate for. You want people to say "Yes! My money! Take all of it!" but you aren't actually planning it out. WHAT are you going to make in that tower. Don't bother with who, the where or the how but think about the WHAT. What do you want to make that will benefit and be enjoyable for that smallest of player-groups? Because if you do not then I will bet all of my gil (all the 200 gil) that it will more likely than not, not turn out as you think it will. Or to say it more in my trademarked brusque way: it will look like a piece of shit.

Of course it'll be beautiful. Cobblestone is the prettiest block of them all.

Yah I don't see much point.. Donators have plenty too, on the other server I spent some time on, we get way more for way less. So you can try to make a tower, but if it has no purpose... It has no purpose.

We all tried to paste it and only he got it correctly, atleast that's what we thought at the time.

Me and Flingle had the idea to make the tower at that chunk that's off the map instead of under the spawn. not sure what the cords are or if its even possible to access.

Don't do that. Border Guard will teleport you to spawn if you walk in that chunk, won't it?

well if there is a way to bypass it then that would be sweet, and only donator's could know how.

So what we have here is a rough idea for yet another perk for us donators.
From what I understand, a few things should be cleared up before you even THINK about construction.


1: What will this tower... Err... Building, whatever the fuck it is, be made out of? Maybe some skecthes should be made to get an idea of what it'll look like when it's finished. The last thing you want is an ugly tower... Building... Thing.

2: What's so special about this donator only area? Honestly, unless you're giving out free diamonds or something, I wouldn't be interested.

3: As stated before, how do you expect to keep non-donators out of the tower?

I can help build it. That is, if you'll allow me to help, since I'm no longer a donator.

He gave it away and Orc thought Baldymoint7 was the best candidate for it.

Mike gave his donation to someone I can't recall at the moment, I gave some of mtbers' donation to Baldymoint.

When you look at this in an outside view, what harm can it possible do!? Some of the feedback players give on this forum is well off from "constructive-criticism" ...

The obvious thing to do with the area under spawn is build a giant honeypot trap. Have layers of gold and diamond blocks behind glass windows set into the walls of the room beneath the tower and honeypot all the blocks. That way you can catch griefers before they even leave the damn tower in some cases. And it'll be impressive to look at all the shiny things for everyone else :3

I only knew OPs manipulating the area under spawn (16-bit). It's a reasonable assumption that only OPs could do anything with the area under spawn. Further, I said "Spawn is zoned", which it is for the most part, with the exception of this super-duper secret under spawn area.

The OP protection radius has been set to 0 for some time now, hence your ability to throw water around on the top of the spawn tower.

The whole area had been zoned with //expand vert for the past 3-4 months. The zone was later retracted to leave room for the area 'under' spawn. It obviously was pretty secret since no-one gave two shits about it, or even knew about it's existance, until a week ago.

Funny thing is, you guys handled OP much better than Lizardman (And many other Admins at the time) did the last time he had it.

It was a temp map; temp maps are for shits and giggles. You fail to realize the other time we had OP; THE TIME WE HAD IT WHEN MAKING THE NEW WORLD, a.k.a. world "Orcworm". No staff would abuse OP powers on the main map. :3
