Cant you run Hey0's mod on the server like it was before, without the update? Cause I think you can downgrade Minecraft to an earlier version or something and run the server with all the plugins and stuff.

we COULD... but it would be an extreme annoyance and you would end up having to pirate an older copy (aka ILLEGAL)

Not really, you only need to edit a java file, but seriously, people don't like playing the game in old versions. Vanilla is good until we decide what to do. Don't worry, it won't take long.
