Please Help! ASAP

Ok this is a long story so ill make it as "to the point as possible"

(OK BEFORE I GO ANY FURTHER THIS ISNT A CREEPY PASTA THING)


A few weeks ago I was playing a game on my laptop and had to delete some folders and reinstall them. I did that and when i ran the game again it was extremely laggy. I thought it was because the texture models ext were corrupt or w/e so i reinstalled the game. Strangly it reinstalled but all my previous add ons where still there. I ignored it and thought it was because steam backed them up. So i proceaded to play...Minecraft And that game was also laggy as well. It never was. Again I ignored it but this time i was concerned a bit more. I proceeded to opening Youtube and watch one of my favorite video channels. Haatfilms. But the video player was really laggy also and my steam chat thing was laggy. I closed out of all the stuff and the video ran fine. BUT if i have more than one process running it LAGS LIKE SHIT and my speakers make a crackle and norton says there is high CPU usage. And NONE of my games work the way they once did I whiped my user and the problem wasnt solved. Im getting a new PC anyway but I just would like to know how to fix it because my sister will use this for school when I get my new one and I dont want it to balls up on her. PLEASE HELP D:

Ummm... Update your video card drivers?

Probably some conflict with video-codecs since it only seems to affect videos. Gonna need to some details on what exactly you deleted/have on your pc.

Also if it's going to be a hand-me-down anyway... isn't a complete reinstall (as in "format c:\") not easier to bring the thing in prime condition?

What i deleted was the Materials, Models, Script, and Sound folder in Garrys Mod. Reinstalled them and bam that happened.

All i have that is important is Sony Vegas 9, Flash CS5, Alot of Steam games. Minecraft starcraft 2 MS office programs and music and movies and audiobooks. my computer is an HP entertainment pavilion thing.

Eh, I'd just reinstall the OS. Generally helps tons on Windows.

Uninstall Gary's mod, and see what happens.

it chould might be the hell of a SVChost thing i had problems with.

when you open Taskmanager and look for SVChost, does it use extreme much ram?

if it DOES then Windows Button + r, write Services.msc

Then something werido panel apears magicly on the screen and find something thats called Superfetch


Right click it, choose properties


then on "startup type" (or whatever its called) where Automatic is chosen, CHOOSE Manualy

(Superfetch is a type of software that recognice what programs you use and start some of them up. Why start "some" of them up? well what it basicly does is that it makes the programs you choose to startup, startup faster.)

Restart and it might be fixed

I know it dosent make any sence, but it worked for me once on one of my other computers.

Also you can download Gamebooster free, and try it out.

If nothing of this works i recommend to update drivers for your videocard.

and one small thing, what type of computer do you have? screencard name? etc etc
