Are you guys kidding me? I honestly don't care about apple(don't get me wrong I love their products, I'm typing this on an iPhone) or worship Steve jobs but you need to have some respect. He has influenced many people and has been called the modern einstein. He basicly created the smart phone and tablet computer markets and apple, the company he created and ran(he actually did work on projects and did alot for the company), is miles ahead, and will be for a while as other companies struggle to catch up. He created one of the better computers of his time in a garage, using it he also popularised the mouse. I don't care if you hate apple you should still have respect for what he has done.

Miles ahead you say? Even the new iPhones are behind most Android phones, specifications wise. He did not create the smartphone, my dad had a smartphone before iPhones even came out. Tablet computer? They were bound to happen. Look at the puny little travel laptops they have now. I do hate Apple, but when did I disrespect him? I recognize him for his hard work in getting to where he was, but I do not get the hype for Apple shit.

It's the internet folks, don't expect people to show compassion or care for anything. I'm not saying that that is a good thing or something that people should do, I'm just accepting it because it is fact. I was not a fan of Steve Jobs but I can respect his death. I don't want to sound like your first grade teacher but 'if you don't have something nice to say, don't say it' would go a long way on the internet, especially in threads about someone dying.

A person's death affects everyone that knew them. If it doesn't, then the unaffected people can't really be called sane people.
I've lost many close relatives, and my heart goes out to his friends and family. Just as much as it would for anyone on these forums if I heard they had passed away. That's what people mean by respect.

I didn't like Steve, didn't see why people worshipped him. Oh wow, he created apple, I do like there products, infact I'm listening to my ipod atm. But apples attitude towards somethings were idiotic and pointless. As I've explained before on the forums, my view on things like this are as followes. Life is life, death is death, life will fuck you over so many different times and in so many different ways, but death will only fuck you up once. We need death, it's something we need as a species. And there is no point grieving over death. Allthough I wish his family peace of mind.

Last time I checked Apple didn't make all of the hundreds of thousands of apps out there, only a select few.
And of-course Apple developed an OS for their phone, they wouldn't slap mango / android on it and call it a day.

Uhh, nope, all of the apps I've downloaded on my S2 work perfectly well. Add in root access rather than locked down iOS and you're onto a winner.
