If you're going to produce music to possibly sell, you're going to have to buy the software to legally do that. But I'm just guessing that you guys are messin' around

Yah, no doubts. I wasn't allowed to sell my mixed CD to any clubs (the main one being "Les Dessees" here in Montreal) without having purchased the DAW Software. Off-Beat (the studio I'm affiliated with around here) didn't allow me to. It would bring them down.
And, Monstaboi, FL Studio is not meant for music production. I know they advertise it as a music production software, but producing music with it is the worst thing you can possibly do.
In all honesty, FL Studio should only be used for recording vocals, or say, guitar, or other instruments, then editing what you have recorded. (Example, recorded drums, and want to Sample-Replace them).
