Well then, you'd get this http://c55.me/minetest/index.php

Minetest is basically a clone of minecraft, but it's open-source and coded in C++ rather than in shitty Java. While Minecraft's verticle limit is 128 blocks in the air, Minetest can comfortably handle 31,000 in either direction. It's still early in development, but looks damn promising, especially since Mojang is pretty much done updating Minecraft. Also, it has much better optimization; I got a steady 60 fps with everything maxed, while I get around 45 with tiny render distance on Minecraft. Check it out, so far it looks pretty cool.

    Meh.
    I tried it.
    Both languages have their limits.

I tried it and got around 65-70 fps, which is lower than the 80-90 I get on minecraft. (far)
However, to run the local server, it took 10x less resources than MC. For mulitplayer, this is much, much better.

For now it's capped at ~60 fps, but seeing as it's so early in development and is open-source, it probably won't stay that way long

If Minecraft was in C++ it would be VERY different.
The same goes for this in Java.

Runescape being an example of java coding done well. Their servers can hold, what, 2000 players each?

Minecraft servers can hold 2000 people.
    For about half a second.
On 3 TB of Server RAM
