Yesterday I was riding on Orcworm who was riding on my Brother NeroTheDarklord xD
You can ride on anything you want using a saddle (The saddle wont be lost unless you use it on a pig like it was intended). If you ride on something you can show the Animal/Mob (doesnt work for player ofc) where to go to using the right click of a rod, though its very hard to steer. >.<

The Animal or Mob do "Noises" wich are displayed in the chat including a healthbar of the "Mount".
When steering it it sometimes loses a bit of health I believe.

You may want to try these commands:
/mob stop
/mob goto playername
/mob attack playername

You can also 'feed' the mob items to recover it's health.
