Time to open the Praetorian Bank! Empty Time to open the Praetorian Bank!

    Post by Vespasian 2011-04-09, 18:59

I'm happy to announce that my financiers and our associates have given the go-ahead for the grand opening of first bank on Orc's server! The Praetorian Bank will open very soon, and be available for general loans as well as other investment services.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

As you can see, significant financial resources have been made available. Obviously these are only my personal holdings, and the Praetorian Bank is a joint venture of many interests.

Location as of yet to be determined.

Edit: Loans will be distributed on a basis of reputation and calculated liability for loss. Various methods will be employed to collect on those who default or negotiate in bad faith, as no plugins are yet available.

Same way as Liz I presume. Now truth be told, I would very much like that these who loaned how much to be made public. This would make it easier for everyone to keep tabs on their finances. And... No offence Vesp, but I trust you about as far as I can throw you which considering my physique is not that far.

But yeah, very, very nice idea and as Ruly said: Name of texture pack. NAO.

I thought Liz gained his wealth by selling to the admin shop, which I've now reduced the prices to 0 Question

Some texture packs (more specifically, most using HD patcher) include smoother fonts. Mixcraft is an example, although it's 32x32. The one in vesps screenie seems to be 64x64.

Does this mean you don't want a loan? Sad

But yeah, very, very nice idea and as Ruly said: Name of texture pack. NAO.

I'm using two texture packs at the moment: environmental art from the 128 x 128 Enhanced texture pack, and a few textures added in from the LB Photorealism pack. It's a phenomenal texture pack, best out of the 5 or 6 I've tried so far, but unfortunately it doesn't include custom armor textures, so I threw the armor textures from the LB Photorealism pack in. The Photorealism one has the best armor textures I've seen, and also the best moon texture.

Not actually sure which mod has the custom font: the font only got all nice after I threw the two mods together, before I did that it was the horrible looking default font. LB Photorealism also has awesome looking water.

Oh I will loan when I need the money. This bank is a pretty good idea, there's no denying that.

Loan collection is a little iffy at the moment, with no plugin support. It's going to have to either be people we trust, or people will have to leave something valuable as a assurance that they will actually pay back the loan.

Probably because the 'Grand Opening of the Praetorian Pawn Shoppe' sounds tacky.

Technically a loan given with something taken to ensure repayment would be a pawn. But Bank sounds better than pawn shop Very Happy.

    Edit: Irrelevant,circumstances changed.

Also, for now they will technically be pawns, unless we trust someone enough to give them a loan without pawning something. But those will be small loans, unless we really trust said person.
