Well the only reason we knew he was doing it was the 100+ diamonds he was auctioning... Yah we used to allow x-ray back in the day, but now we don't. We have a sign in spawn right next to /spawn on the top of the tower.

I knew something was up with that lol. He was auctioning dozens of diamonds all the time.

There's a difference between a texture pack and an actual mod. All X-Ray related topics on minecraft forums have been locked and the links to the mod removed. Making textures transparent doesn't help you find resources, at most it helps you find caves (just like the gravel/sand trick). x-ray is a cheat mod to see all resources and hidden chests (even when there is no empty room next to them), there are enough youtube vids to show you how it looks like.

minecraft.jar is tooootally customizable.

Hurp Durp, you can also edit the terrain.png yourself and make any texture you want transparent. Your point in stating the obvious?

You wont see any diamonds that way Wink

Unless they're in a cave. Your client only show you the textures you can actually see, so anything behind another block is invisible.

You ever use a texture pack that was glitched and had one side of, like, a furnace, transparent? That's what it's like. You can see EVERYTHING in the world.

I have no idea as to how any of you can deal with those x ray/wire packs. They melt my eyes when I look at em. >.>

All you see are the cave outlines, and resources that are on the side that is facing you, like this (10 seconds terrain.png edit on SSP):

The X-Ray mod is totally different, as you can see from this:

See the difference now? transparent textures don't show resources.
