    Post by Adriox 2011-04-14, 12:21

Seriously, these Donor plugins are getting out of hand. You guys are annoyed by the amount of tp, etc. complaints piling up, but it's the fault of granting such powers to these people on a server where there's PvP and stealing allowed.

I never had trouble with it so far, until today, while I was renovating my shop in spawn. I had to move my stuff lower because I'm installing lava in the floor, so I had to move all my storage chests + insides.

I blocked off the entrance, making it realistic impossible for anyone to enter the building.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

While /cprivating my forges, I was suddenly pushed aside, turning around, player sieve was standing behind me, looking around. I was telling him to get the fuck out, but he was way more busy checking my stuff, especially trying to open every chest I had.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I was really lucky that I locked them before, which wouldn't have been necessary yet as like I said my space was fenced off. I had to tell him several times, and once he figured out there's nothing to take, he flew into the first store and then finally outside.

This should be a complaint about sieve, and the possibility for Donors to access an area that they are very well not supposed, or allowed to access.

1: I don't have permission to open chests in spawn anyway
    2: you are stupid
3: what does it matter if I go into a store out of curiosity
4: I left as soon as you told me to
    5: stealing is legal anyway

This post just proves your immatureness. Curiosity is no reason to get yourself access into other peoples building. Stealing is only allowed if you have full access towards the treasure and don't create yourself one eg. griefing or teleporting. Try to speak in sentences instead of summarizing everything up like a douche.

he did nothing wrong, he didnt take anything either. donators having /tp causes no harm and we well know that if we abuse it we get demoted or banned.

The problem with these situations, is that it's a case of "He said... and HE said..".

However, the entrance was clearly blocked off. Common sense dictates that whoever built it doesn't want anyone to enter. So what do you do in this situation? Don't fucking enter!

Just be responsible with your donator powers, and be courteous. Not sure about the rest of you, but I am tired of hearing this shit.

That is exactly what I'm trying to point out between this storm of incoming self-righteousness Donors.
And while you read all these posts you can clearly say that they're not responsible, in their point of view there was no mistake, and because they've spent money they can do anything at all as long as the server doesn't stop them.

Am I self-righteous? No? Is it because I actually READ the FAQ at spawn and not just donated as soon as can be just to have more power over someone. With all due respect, that seems to be the case with all these new donators. I mean yeah they are helping fund the server but...It's just terribad.

There are two types of donors:
    1) The donor that did so because they like the server and want to be supportive of it.
    2) The donor that did so because they want the 1337 Haxx0rz 5k7llz, yo.

We used to get mostly Type 1 (such as myself and a few others).
Lately though, especially since the new map, Type 2 tends to be prevalent.

Really makes a bad name for those of us that are helpful.

    I completely agree.

A quote from the donator page on orcowrm.co.uk
However, please note that donating will not mean you're allowed to disobey any of the server rules or treat players any differently than you normally would. If you're found to be breaking a rule you will be punished just like anyone else. You're donating to support the server, not to 'purchase' the commands...

This means that these commands are not the objective of the donations. They are there to recognize you helping the server. If you abuse your "privilages", they can and probably will be removed.

    tl;dr
Don't be a dick with donator powers. It will bite you in the ass.

    I'm the latter. :3

Of course, when/if I donate again, it will be for reason 1, but I'll likely give someone else the credit so they can have donator power as well.

I thought plots in spawn were only available for donators...how did a member get one anyway?

And yeah, sieve abuses this stuff whenever he thinks he can get away with it. Earlier he tried to kill me using magic carpet three times, failed each time, and then TPed to me twice in 30 seconds, all of the time trying to kill me. There are some donators like him that you should just expect to abuse their powers.

Keep a bucket of lava with you, and then if he enters again you can drop it on him. That's the only way to fight back in a non-Pvp area.

There's a fee of 5k for a plot there now, donators may use their free zone to 'purchase' a plot and avoid the fee.

Let me quote again what onlyme pointed out perfectly.
"However, the entrance was clearly blocked off. Common sense dictates that whoever built it doesn't want anyone to enter. So what do you do in this situation? Don't fucking enter!"
I have closed it entirely off making it impossible to enter, and clearly saying I don't want anyone to enter.
But yet they are allowed to enter until I tell them no? That's just utter bullshit. Secondly I can't be there 24/7 to tell them to get out so they don't peek around where they're not supposed to.

I also understand that some of the donors are there to support the server, but there's also that second, abusive type like being said, and I don't see how pissing off rest of the players with the "bought" commands is supporting in any way.

    I have this to say:
I personally think the temp-server WAS THE MOST RETARDED IDEA EVER!! I mean has anyone noticed the number of new, more prolific greifers, the larger amounts of hacks, etc.
Also things that were considered taboo in the old map now arent (for instance sitting outside of someones house to ambush them, has become mre common)
Thats all I have to say.
