I'm guessing this isn't cool

Yesterday a certain player was bragging about how he picked up 16 diamond blocks and 64 diamonds from a random guest he killed. And when people asked "how did a guest get that many diamonds", surprisingly enough, the answer wasn't X-ray hacking.

Stand by orc statue, wait for dumb guests to steal all diamond blocks from sword, kill guest, take 200 diamonds, profit. Economy= crushed.

I was there when it happened. He killed idontkn0w, a suspected x rayer (Jarv banned his buddy). Monstaboi did earn it legitimately.

So taking hundreds of diamonds from x-rayers or statue griefers is legit? Nice to know that the diamond price will be crushed by that.

Why mine for diamonds when you can just get a couple x-rayers on their side, get a few hundred diamonds from em, and when they get banned, who cares? You keep the diamonds.

What x rayer would be willing to offer their neck to a regular player? He also didn't KNOW idontkn0w was an x rayer (hell even staff didn't, since neither he nor his buddy auct'd anything at all), so, really, this helped us bust a pair of x rayers.

i think your just jelly, first of all. also, i used most of those diamond blocks in my house for decor, and i dont auction diamonds.i earned them fair and square. thanks for backig me up lizard

He didn't, nor did we know he was an x rayer at the time of the kill. Monsta /msg'd me to check out idontkn0w due to his abundance of diamonds upon his death. I LATER killed idontknow and got 21 diamonds. He helped us find said x rayer.

Nice to know that the most valuable commodity in the game can be kept in the economy even after the hackers who got it are banned. I guess randomly killing guests just got a lot more profitable.

It was pure luck that he killed him and he happened to have a shitton of diamonds. Monsta didn't "plan" on killing an x rayer.

If he was killed (and is an Xray hacker) then good job on the killer's part. The killer EARNED what the Xray hacker DIDN'T. Lols.

So did paying a couple of dollars for another account, griefing to death, givning all the profit to your account and getting banned; it's much, much more profitable now.

Yeah the accounts are way too expensive now to bother with that stuff.

It's using a transparent texture pack to be able to see only certain ores, making it easy as hell to get stuff.

Also, there are already people like Orc who have 9 or so account, and anyone could ask for a friends account (one who doesn't play on the server) to do it.

canuck, an x-rayer is somebody who has a hack or texture pack that makes regular blocks invisible or see through and makes it much easier to find ores. and this topic is going nowhere, it can be locked.

It wasn't his intention to kill a SPECIFIC x rayer. It was merely by chance.

Why should he be punished for killing a cheater?

Ok, Vespasian, all of you get your money and make a griefer account to get loads and loads of diamonds, then give those to yourself and when asked say you had no idea it was a griefer.

I think we're not asking for him to be banned or anything, just for the diamonds to be returned.

I checked the logs on the sword. Someone else (not idontkn0w or his friend) griefed it. I promptly banned him. :3

which at the time i didnt say the statue was griefed cause i got confused as fuck, i thought there was an identical yellow orc statue next to the orc statue but the other one wasnt there in the first place and...-mind blown-

I just want to know what the rules are for taking stuff that x-ray hackers obtained illegitimately.

I can easily tell who's x-ray hacking. I predicted that four people were x-ray hackers, and all of them were later banned by Jarvis for just that. (Bzar, Hviidgar, General and some other guest who had 10 diamonds within 3 minutes of joining the server).

So if we're allowed to, I will identify x-ray hackers, kill them, take their diamonds ,and then keep them despite the owners being banned. Otherwise everyone will just be miles behind people like Monsta who take 200 diamonds from a single guest when they normally have no money to buy them.

Vesp is right here. It's not taking diamonds away to punish Monsta, it's simply refusing to reward Monsta for the illegal activites of somebody else.

The reason xray hacking is bad is because it ruins the economy. If you allow the illegally-obtained diamonds to remain on the server, that ALSO ruins the economy.

Nothing personal, Monsta, but you see my point, right?

Orcworm pretty nice and stuff. But that wasn't the point of Vesp. He and me maybe other people want to know the EXACT rules for the consequences of X-Ray hacking after the X-Rayer was banned. It's just a matter of you putting 2 new rules in. Or maybe 1. I exactly like to have some clearance to.

So what do u all think? New rule? I think yes. Rules are made to have in 1 list what has to happen at certain times and, this kind of thing is not really implented in the rules. If you say: "Players who PvP and gain valuables from hackers/cheaters/grievers can't be made responsible for anything he has in his possession of what he earned from the other player".

Just saying. Strict rules means a lot of posts don't have to be made , am I right?

If an x-rayer is banned whatever they've modified on the server should be rolled back to day 1, imo anyway. Anything that players obtain from any rulebreaker, through one way or another, should also re removed as it should've never come into their posession in the first place.

Per se, idontkn0w was never PROVEN to be an x rayer; he left for good on his own accord after his buddy, Killedman13, was banned for griefing.

However, I agree wholeheartedly that they should have a FULL rollback in their name. If they helped build a house (Hviidgar), oh well. Shit happens.

Actually, I kinda like it not being Honeypot. Gives people a sense of community belonging to report it.

I agree, but at the other hand. If I didn't get any valuables from the hacker I need to re-do 1 day. Sound silly but it's the idea. We normal players have to pay for someone that uses a cheat. If only the one x-raying can get a roll-back it would be better. Though, I'm 100% certain that isn't possible, poorly.

If once in 3 months there is a x-rayer I don't mind having a 1 day roll-back. Though, if we want a complete roll-back than, 1 day isn't even enough but that's something I think there isn't even a solution for. A x-rayer doesn't get caught right away and HAS made process during weeks.

1 day roll-back sounds logical but if every week there's 3 x-rayers we have a lot of roll-backs which isn't really cool .

Personally, I don't really know what the best solution is. X-Rayers are simple just a pain in the arse. There isn't a perfect solution I quess. I think we just have to look true some weeks and look how many x-rayers are in our server etc.

Any opinions?

/lb rollback Orcworm 4000 20 days would wipe everything I'd ever modified off the map, mining, chopping and all.

Oh, well is that a good solution u think ? A full scale roll-back wouldn't be a complete solution. Sorry I'm just trying to help a bit . I'm not a server holder!!! . Better have everything that the hacker did gone than make someone suffer because of the hacker being a douchebag who got caught.

Indeed, I would only literally roll the world back if a protection plugin had stopped working or something similar.

If only we had a rollback plugin that also removes the items from the inventory.
