Re: pvp "griefing"
kinda depends on what you think
if you think griefing= causing other people grief, than yes
if you think it means destroying other peoples stuff, then no
but this is aimed at orc so ill gtfo now

Re: pvp "griefing"
Griefing == causing grief. Destroying anothers work is just the most common form of it.

Re: pvp "griefing"
Every narb whines about being killed. If that's considered grief then it shouldn't be a pvp server.

Re: pvp "griefing"
Griefing in the context of Minecraft is simply the alteration of other people's works.
As this is the internet, the true meaning of "Grief" doesn't mean potato mashers.
Hence, Pete, PVP =/= Grief. Deal with it.

Jesus, is it so hard to get it? Killing other people after they have clearly stated that they don't want to fight, and searching for them to kill them is harassing.

We don't search to kill people, if we come across them then we'll probably attack them.
If everybody had the choice of "I dont want to fight" then we should just remove PvP altogether >.>

OH, we can; we just don't care what you say. Also, we've all seen your "kill on sight" board; and many of those people have said they don't want to fight you guys.

Re: pvp "griefing"
There's killing players and there's specifically targeting them repeatedly, I wouldn't want to play if the latter was happening to me. There is a very clear line between the two. I can't believe this discussion is still rampant after so many threads of back-and-forth shit flinging.

Re: pvp "griefing"
better yet pete, in this spawns definition where does it say anything about harassment? I mean not your meaning, the spawns meaning.

Re: pvp "griefing"
Pope, enough with the semantics, you know as well as I do how the term 'grief' can be interpreted in many different ways.
Referring to what? If you're on a PVP server I'm pretty sure you're allowed to kill people.

The definition doesn't fit on a sign, and sincerely, there's no reason for us to define to you a well-known word. You can always google it too, but don't worry, I'll do it for you. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Yes to kill, no to harass. Orc himself said you shouldn't keep attacking a person who already stated he doesn't wish to fight.

Would any other pvp'er care? It's just because we're a group and that's why people are whining..
As I already said, we don't go searching for them to kill them, if we come across them, we will kill them.
And who cares if it is harassing? It takes 8 blocks to make themselves invincible from our attacks.

Re: pvp "griefing"
last time i heard, if ur house is wide open, then being camped in it seems to be more of the players fault. as for walk-by's if you can't accept random ppl killing you while you walk, then why are you playing on a pvp server?not player-versus-guy_walking_by_or_guy_trapped_in_his_house_because_you_won't_let_him_play

Re: pvp "griefing"
Pleaaase don't tell me we're gunna have rules against this. Wtf.
What's the bounty thing for then? Targeting players yeah? Putting up money to have people target those players. Are you going to tell people it's harassment if someone on the bounty list complains about being killed? Or if someone says 'they don't want to pvp' are you going to take them off the bounty list?
What is this, I don't even.

I just don't understand it as harassment when it's perfectly easy to get away from and avoid.. and it's on a pvp server.

Re: pvp "griefing"
Of course, if people don't want to fight people, there is no reason to kill them. Then again, killing them dozens of times is harassment, camping them on their homes is harassment too, and making a bounty board where you pay people to get killed or whatever is harassment too. Why can't you just play normally?
Also; no, if it was just one person harassing others, it'd still be wrong, but being a grief gang is much more noticeable.

we dont kill one person over and over, we kill several over and over meaning it is not harrassment as several recieve the same treatment. we are not hunting and killing 1 individual...

Exactly, thus there is no problem, and until there is there is no need for these ridiculous threads asking me to define everything down to the tiniest detail to crop up every single day.
