Current location: -1602,70,-1700 Waypoint established. Facing and starting in north signature spot, clockwise: torch, white wool, sapling, white wool.
Citizens: Flingle
Purpose: Aspiring city location, if I can put the right time and effort into it.
Rules: Try to be authentic. No floors of glass, with lava underneath. Going for a 14-16th century med-evil look. Behind the mountain is fine for personal building. Leave the lake as is. the flat area looking from my home atop the mountain is for community structures (think shops, the sand/water nametag is going to get torn up) Try to follow the flow of the land as much as possible. If you need to harvest sand, please either do it far away, or put a top layer back when done. I don't want any gaping holes. The mountain will become the town hall/citadel.
I have an example farm near the protected bay, that would work for reeds or wheat, feel free to take it apart to see how it works, just put it back when done. If you want to help me expand, let me know in game or this topic first, so we can talk about building standards first.
Building code: defensive structures should be 99% cobble (yes, not so pretty, but more authentic looking to me.) All other structures should be a mix of cobble/smoothstone and planks/logs. Make sure everything is WELL light. Structures that have a below ground component should not be larger underground than above. No Floating structures, try to make it look real. No building should be more than 3 stories high, and none should obstruct the line-of-sight between the mountain top and the defensive walls. I will try to rough in the full inner defensive ring, and later add the outer. The outer will be quite large, and all farms should be placed in this area when it is ready.
Final thoughts: I am going for a sense or realism for the architecture. Teleport pads are fine, but please sink them into the ground, and fill with smoothstone once set.
A few people have asked what they can do to help, so I will post a general plan.

- Pink is leveling (the nametag is going) down to one block above water line. This is for market/shops.

- Light blue is dredging (make the water at least 4-6 blocks deep)
