Re: Newsletter
Hello Everyone!
As you may or may not have figured out by now, PetePorty has stepped down as Forum Emperor and appointed me his replacement. He's done a fine job with it the past months, and he has my thanks for cleaning this place up into the effecient machine it's become. I'll do my best to fill his shoes the following months, but I ask you to bear with me as I figure out all the behind-the-scenes aspects of administering the forums. I'm confidant all will go well at any rate!
There's an exciting (at least to me) change coming that I will reveal soon. Those of you that know me well enough MAY be able to guess what it is, and I ask those that already know to keep it in the circle until it's ready.
See you in the forums!
~Rulyon
That's what was in the email for me.

Re: Newsletter
Nothing big in the newsletter. I was hoping that it would encourage a few members that have long since left the server to check up on the forums; doing so they may see how the server itself has evolved since they left and give it another go.

No, no, change is coming. I meant only that the newsletter itself, as you can see from Yar's post, is nothing major.

The biggest reason for the low numbers we have these days is because we're on 1.4 on 60% of MC players don't have a brain adequate enough to know how to downgrade..

60% is a bit on the low side. I would think it would be more around the 85%.

Speaking of which, #733 is recommended... so we'll probably be on 1.5 by tonight.

Re: Newsletter
Doesn't make sense, its not Orcworm that only has this problem, every server is waiting for bukkit update etc.. so its not like everyone is just going to another server.
I do have a single player map that I dabble with every now and then, so I can only assume that people are either playing single player, or just not playing minecraft at all.

So much so that builds have been locked out? I'm using a different border plugin so it may have calculated the border a little differently.

Map borders have drastically changed. For example Abydos isn't accesible anymore.

Plugin change has shifted the border 300 blocks, changing in a minute.

Also, you really need to let players know that the iConomyChest shop has changed to left click = sell to shop and right click = buy from shop. (unless you have that option off)

It was set to send to "All Members", so maybe check your spam folder. If there's a search function on your email provider, search for "orcworm".

Heh, no. No baby. I wish we it were so, but no baby. A while back we THOUGHT Raechel might be pregnant, but it ended up just being an abnormally long cycle coupled with a bout of food poisoning. Sure seemed like morning sickness to us. We were pretty disappointed. :-(
But those of you that missed the newsletter, you're not missing much. (And Yarwood quoted it on the first page of this thread, so you can read it there.) To be honest, the only reason I sent it as a newsletter instead of a forum announcement was because I discovered the Newsletter function and wanted to try it out.
