I "wasted real money" because I like the server but receive no REAL benefit for donating on my own behalf. So, donating for OTHERS goes to the same CAUSE (Orc's server) and increases my own benefit (donating for Grint so Abydos has slightly more power and donating for lolyou for 20k gil) as well as theirs (donator abilities).
