Old people annoy me like no other group of people. I wish to list the reasons why, and would like to hear of your thoughts.
- They are very arrogant. More than frequently they are under the impression that they are always, invariably, correct, no matter how much evidence to the contrary is presented before them. I have previously argued with my grandfather about why it's wrong that he eats my mother's ice cream from the tub. Apparently, since it's his house, he's allowed to demonstrate a Stalinist-type approach to the keeping of things under its roof.
-They become ever more fixated on pointless things which really don't matter to their ongoing welfare. For example, my grandmother is really quite obsessed with the management of lights. They simply must be switched off, and if they are not, she will spend hours at a time waiting outside the room for someone else to turn it off. Now, if I were old, I would be more worried about things such as funeral arrangements, or my will.
-They are god-damn intolerant of everything! Gays? Let's not talk about it. Technology? They're after your credit card details. Boyfriends? MAN AND WOMAN SHOULD NOT LOOK AT ONE ANOTHER, EVER, EVEN IF THEY ARE MARRIED, WITH CHILDREN. CHILDREN RESULT FROM LOVE. SEX? WHAT'S THAT?
