Good single player games

Ok so i'm looking for a good single player game on xbox 360 to kill the long break between secondary school and college anybody got any recommendations?

I've played Fallout 3 + NV and the mass effect games, I hear that Elder scrolls IV is a good game but i'm not so sure, I like playing RPG's but I need something that is accessible but provides a good RPG experience. I'm also looking at getting Just cause 2 which looks to be a good game to get but I need opinions.

Edit: If you're suggesting PC games i'm open to them but I only own a mac and so unless anyone knows of a way to play pc games on a mac I have my hands tied there.

I checked it out and it looks awesome but I only have a mac so for me.

Just Cause 2. It's basically nothing BUT fucking around and blowing shit up and it is fun as shit at that.

Go pirate Just Cause 2, its not worth the 30+ bucks but still a pretty fun game.

it's just annoying the lack of good games on mac anyway out of the games on steam any good ones for mac that I can get I still have money for xbox games put I just need something new to play.

Dragon age: origins (yeah i know its better on PC)
Dragon age 2 (probably after playing the first one)
Borderlands (more of a multiplayer game but single player is fun also)

Oblivion is on the 360, not as good as the pc version though.

Actually yeah, it is good on ALL platforms. Please enlighten me as to why you hate it so much.

Cave Story

Best single player RPG I've ever played.

Cave Story isn't really an RPG. It's more a metroidvania if anything else. It is pretty damn good. And free.

Reason I consider it RPG is because of the story. I think the story pushes it up to that level. I don't know what metroidvania is, but, yes, it is a FREAKING fantastic game. haha

Metroidvania as in the Metroid-inspired Castlevania games (aka the GBA/DS-games). Collect weaponry, shoot/hit monsters, completely irrelevant point system, story-driven. You could argue that Terraria is also a metroidvania only it's devoid of a story.

Fable 1 is backwards compatible and you can find it for very cheap. It's slightly better than 2 and loads better than 3.

Blow everything up, experience a very odd story with the best main character in the world. And also Asians chanting "Scorpio...Scorpio". With all the minor references (like I am legend) and the ability to grapple a car to a plane and ride in the car while blowing giant military bases up...in a giant world...Best. Game. Ever. Drive an ice-cream truck down a vertical mountain and somehow survive the explosion, have the military send in a 2 choppers to desroy you because you were shooting a bubble gun at the military...plus the random glitches make it more amusing (like a helicopter trapped between 2 buildings upsidown)...yeah...

Two Worlds II, better than failble...

I dont feel like adding anything into this as no games come to mind, ive been watching alot of movies for the last week. but um.. really.. suggesting just cause 2 is a good game? i played it for 4 hours and i'm pretty sure i spent 75% of that grapling the ground and parachuting around an island. which, just annoyed me. Lords of the realm anyone? lol. The witcher was an enjoyable game, haven't played the second, thats an rpg. Gothic have good ideas (though poorly coded) i like them aswell.

Nah, I olready pirated Oblivion once... It was pretty good, but it's not worth the price considering I've already played through half of it.

oh and def get borderlands.

borderlands was okay at best. its good multiplayer because it never really ends but by the time you are on badguys with their third prefix and fifth suffix and you only changed your gun once every 20 hours of gameplay.. it seems pretty crappy. bioshocks interesting story but short. two worlds was released almost completely unplayable, and the second one wasnt much of an improvement over that. I enjoyed oblivion until i hit the glitch with the mage guild i think it was that corrupted all of my save files and made me start the game again, NTY!

I have 200+ hours of oblivion but I can't get into Morrowind. There's no fast travel and no quest listings, so it gets really tough to remember what you're supposed to be doing

I say get Bulletstorm just for laughs, other than that Duke Nukem Forever and Red Faction Armageddon, I'm about to pick those up from my preorder in the next week but I know for sure that Armageddon is pure fun if you love to blow shit up so yeha

I never cared what other people think.. its about your time, and what u do with it.. gtfo some random dude who gives a game 3.5 ? he probably likes Hellokittyonlineislandadventure and Hentai.

How can u diss Duke Nukem Forever.. All the 1 liners he pulls, are so hilarious..

The problem, if you want to call it that, with DNF is that is really a relic of a bygone age. Those of us who have fond memories (and with that I mean DN3D) of The Duke will find it absolutely hilarious. But the kiddies who got CoD, Battlefield, Gears of War etc. spoonfed since birth... not so much.


Also you might try Alice: Madness Returns even if you haven't played American McGee's Alice. Yes it linear and repetitive as fuck, but "dem enviroments".
