    Repeated grief Empty Repeated grief

    Post by Kevy_Kev 2011-01-12, 13:22

Hello all. Posting here to inform you of the repeated grief I and a few of my friends are getting in this server. Two of my friends have registered and posted in this forum for previous issues but today it got even worse.

I was up until a few minutes under the assumption that using the command /cprivate on a chest would make it lockable AND would stop it from being removed via someone coming to it with a left mouse button. (We even tested it by trying to destroy a chest; we couldn't do it so we were happy enough to leave all our stuff in them)

I just logged in to find out that at least 5 chests were destroyed and replaced with 1 block of farmland. I respect your forum and it's members and I'm 99% sure that it wasn't any of them..but I've come here today to get confirmation on whether chests can be broken but anyone. My initial reaction was that it might have been a person with mod powers in the server but I'm not blaming anyone. I've come to expect the grief in my little unofficial town since a rail track was built over it.

Once again I'm not bawwwing about it; I'm just reporting it and after seeing Orcworm looking through logs to find a sign placement I was wondering if he could see when people destroyed chests. If not. fair play and I'll get on. If you can then I would hope that you ban the culprit immediately (as I've said they've done this a few times now)

TL;DR - We got griefed; need confirmation on /cprivate commands function in "Protecting" chests.

    Thanks for you time.

    Kevy.

(PS. They threw lava everywhere like last time. Gorram railtrack. ;_; )

Kev, do you build with or know Cheeky_Badger and VideoMixer?

Yes. They were also affected by the broken chest issue. I build with them along with two or three other people in our little plot thing. :3

    Double post; my bad.

I've been browsing the forum and saw that some admins are giving back items in similar theft cases. Would this be the case for us also? :3

I have asked VideoMixer, Cheeky_Badger and another person in our group who was affected to give me a list of the items that were stolen.

Yes, I don't see why not. For anyone else who may experience a similar issue in the future, if you do get griefed do not alter the griefed area, if you do my block logs will show you editing it rather than the actual culprit.
