Look let me put my rather trollish comment like this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Same-sex_marriage_law_in_the_United_States_by_state
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patriot_act
Freedom huh?
But yeah, hope you guys had fun blowing each other up and engorging yourself on BBQ.

What’s funny is the distribution of republican/democrats from 2000-2008 compared to that photo

Probably not never, but just like the long history of people getting rights (minorities and women), it's just going to be a while. It's sad really, cause who really gives a shit.

Re: To My Fellow Americans:
I do. My country won't accept gay marriage as long as I live.
See, the definition of marriage is a union between a woman and a man as husband and wife. Some online dictionaries have added another thing saying that in some places, people of the same sex can marry; but that's just an edit. Marriage is for guys and gals, not for 2 guys or 2 gals.

Re: To My Fellow Americans:
I have absolutely nothing against homosexuals, but they can not marry, since marriage is between a man and a woman. Why would they want to marry if that's a thing between a man and a woman? It's like saying you want to have children, but instead of having children, you'd want to have an adult.

to reap the benefits that married couples have such as combination of their estates and health benefits from their spouse, as well the knowledge that their relationship isn't viewed as inferior to heterosexuals'

Re: To My Fellow Americans:
why would you want combination of estates? Also, the medical benefits coming from the spouse were originally introduced for the female, so she (eve without working/being paid less) could have a decent health care from the man. Now, if both are woman, it doesn't work, and if both are men, they don't need it.

Re: To My Fellow Americans:
this isn't 1890, women work now. What if two gay men adopted and one wanted to take the role of a househusband? Since he couldn't get insurance from his partner because they aren't married, he would be fucked if he ever got sick. And since their estates aren't combined, what if one of them died? The state could take their children if the one who adopted them was dead. Not to mention the fact that the man's immediate family would legally have more of a claim to his stuff then his partner.

Re: To My Fellow Americans:
It was about our Independence Day. I only noted that other part as a side item.
On another point, I support Homosexual couples having all the rights, privileges, and acknowledgements as Heterosexual couples.Whether it's called "marriage" or not is irrelevant. It's just a stupid word. That state of being is more in your heart and mind than it is in words on a piece of paper. They deserve those rights too. You may not support it, just like many others don't, but who are WE to thrust our own opinions on them and force them to give up on those dreams. It won't hury or inconvenience you or me or anyone else if they share the same rights and privileges as any other married couple.
I support them adopting children. Child rearing requires loving guidance, supporting dreams, disciplining for bad behavior. Teaching the importance of sharing, respecting others, & being a friend. Being there to support them in everything that they do, but also letting them face failure so they know they'll pull through.
I challenge you to provide even a single shred of evidence showing homosexual couples are not every bit as capable at child-rearing as heterosexual couples.
There are FAR too many orphans to let something as petty as "I just don't like it" to stop an adoption. Ask any parentless child, they are sure to tell you that they would much prefer two Mommies or two Daddies over having none of either.

Re: To My Fellow Americans:
so if the piece of paper doesn't matter, why do they even want it?
Anyways, in the early years of human development, one must observe examples and experience them to learn. The whole idea of having a male and female parent in the house is so that the child learns how to behave around both, and how each are different in certain aspects.
The fact that the child might learn that being with someone the same sax is 'normal' is plain wrong; considering the human being is the only animal not only driven by it's instincts but by logic and reason too, growing in a gay environment WILL affect the way they see the world; sure, they'll be more 'open minded', but up to what point is that a good thing?
Just to end, I'd like to say that homosexuals are generally discriminated by the mass public; I know this is a problem with society and not with themselves, but that doesn't change the fact that the kid would get made fun at school a LOT and that he would suffer a lot more than he would if he was raised by a heterosexual couple.
Note: I care more about your anniversary than 4/7

First link you posted. Sure, they MIGHT become normal people, but... It's an exception.
Also, don't link me to crap; I won't read it. Instead, read them yourself and write what you think about them.

Re: To My Fellow Americans:
This is ridiculous. lol This is not the dark ages. Marriage has been redefined to be a union between two people who love eachother and want to take that step, not a union between a man and a woman. Basically, Ruly said all that I'd need to say so bravo to you Ruly. ;P
Also, It doesn't matter who raises a child, it matters how the child was raised.
Any parent can be a bad parent.
