Re: Has Orcworm gone soft?
If there was no lwc, every time somebody got robbed I imagine they'd kick up a large bitchfit, demanding that someone check if donator powers were used to get into their house or whatever, and this'd probably get tiresome pretty fast I imagine.
I do however, like the idea of no non-PvP zones apart from major cities. It will increase the value of the major cities and reinforce the fact that large communities are safer than remote outposts (dem bandits). This will draw players together and create a closer community, in addition to creating an exciting new dynamic where bandits roam the anarchical no-man's land, while builders and collectors live and defend themselves in the cities. People would have the choice between stability and wealth, or danger and excitement! Whatever suits people's tastes.
And this IS a survival multiplayer server after all :3

My home will still be safe. My intended style ensures none can enter without griefing. :-)

It's as of yet incomplete. But why would you want to see it? Set a /PW to go a-huntin'?

I have my /pw's maxed, and I hardly ever PvP since no one else is up to it.

Re: Has Orcworm gone soft?
I'm just pointing out what could happen... What would we do then?
Player A griefs Player B
Player C gets in and steals from Player B
Player A gets banned
Player B still lost stuff
What, would you ban Player C or maybe take back the items? For all he knows, Player B's house could have had a hole in purpose. Would you tell Player B to suck it up? His base was griefed and then his stuff was stolen, why should he suck it up? Would you spawn the items to give them to Player B without taking them from Player C? Sure, go ahead and fuck up the economy...
Problems arise when we try to fix what's not broken...

If it was me in that decision, I would tell C to give it back and next time check if the area has been griefed with /lb but if it was a guest, then..I'm a little dumbfounded.

C would be tempbanned and the items would be taken back through a good old fashioned banned player raid, just a little less hostile.

Re: Has Orcworm gone soft?
I would assume so. In most cases a grief is obviously such. A hole just sized so person can get through, in an otherwise secure area, with no sign of alternate means of security isn't there "by design".

Re: Has Orcworm gone soft?
You could place 2 dirt blocks to lock your house, for instance, and a griefer could delete those 2 and the third player would only think you're stupid enough not to have a door... How can you tempban and take away someone's items for doing a perfectly legal action without knowledge of someone else possibly unknown to him breaking the rules?
