It's a RTS game! It has a strong economic base, and the multiplayer is almost unplayable right now, but the game is in very early development, and the devs have meeting every week to discuss what's being done, ETC. (The meetings are open, so if you want to suggest something/check what's being planned or discuss about other people's ideas, you are free to do so.)

So, the game is somewhat similar to Age Of Empires, I guess? You start with only a few options, and you advance through ages and get more stuff. Of course, you want to keep the settlers happy, you also need them not o starve, and yet, you need to earn money. Unlike other games of this kind, it's REALLY easy to go bankrupt, specially if you try to go too fast. You should get just enough to advance through ages, not getting anything that's not needed.

The battle system is on heavy development right now, and you can test it by getting the SVN.

Here's the link, in case you want to try it. ^_^

On level 3 you can make your own tools. If you are running out of tools before 3, you need to buy them.

I do like a good RTS... But is this one of those RTS games where you have to come back 4 hours later to get your next supply of wood or somethign?

Every time I tried to buy tools the trader ship would never sell me any even if it was on 1T.

Giving that description of yours Pete I'm guessing it's more on the Tropico/Anno-side than on the Age of... side

Interesting. Will give it a try.

    It just crashed. >.<

I was playing the tutorial. Got to the stage where I have to adjust taxes. As soon as I did that (either as a result of a trigger or merely timely coincidence) the music got dramatic... then the game froze. I got the error message 15+ times on the log. (Not sure the exact phrasing, I've stupidly closed the window) But it seems unable to "Get Sea King"... whatever that means. But I noticed the ship called "Captain Blackbeard" was directly next to my settler's ship.

Ok, so... Yeah. You can go to the server irc.freenode.net and join #unknown-hirzons to get real time support and well, to help the game develop too... I assume you're playing a stable version? In any case... Yeah, if you could join the IRC (I believe there's a way to do so on their webpage), that would be awesome.

As for EKarney, are you sure you're buying and not selling? The thing the ship will sell is random, but they come often enough that you should get the resources quickly... If you think it's a bug, joining the channel might be cool too. ^_^

(Also, it's the game.) It's never actually crashed for me, but I do know windows users have problems with crashes sometimes.
