Random Lag Spikes Empty Random Lag Spikes

    Post by alexasaro 2011-10-23, 10:47

    Hello World
For the past couple of weeks, I have been getting seemingly random lag spikes and Minecraft memory crashes. I was hoping to find out ways to solve this problem. If anyone has some tips please respond. Thank you.

You'd have to find your computer model on the interwebs, or they would be located somewhere on the computer's box, or possibly somewhere on the computer itself.

RAM? Graphics card? And no Windows 7 would not be the problem, if that's what you were suggesting...

Alex didn't understand it because he only understands good jokes, without an overused meme on this forum.

Windows7 has nothing to do with lag. You could have linux and the same specs and it probably wouldn't make a difference...

Okay wait. Take that back, since linux takes less resources to run the OS....

PS: i have been getting Out Of Memory as well.... Have you tried the Pre-Release 1.9.2/3/4?

Minecraft running out of memory means that you need to allocate some more ram to minecraft. I suggest allocating half of your total ram. I did that, with 4GB, and I have yet to crash since doing that.

    1- windows 7 is fine
    2-spike is cool
3- make sure graphics are on fast
4- make sure performance is on max FPS
5-if it still is happening EVEN with tiny render on .... Just switch back to far because sometimes minecraft wants to load a chunk but tiny constricts it from doing so causing lag
    6- I feel smart now :3

Alex, how much ram do you have? Processor speed? Video card? Information is necessary! And how much ram do you have allocated? I assume the default 512 mb?

From what I know, I have about 40% of my memory allocated to Minecraft, although im uncertain. I was considering getting a new Graphics card for the framelag. The "Out of Memory" thing sorta just dissapeared.
    Sumoar random facts:
-I usually don't have any background programs running
-My lagspikes don't seem to happen in other games
-The lag also appears in single player
-the lags appears in 30 sec bursts every 5 min or so
-The lag goes to about 1-4 FPS
