Before I went to bed, it happened to me that breaking spawners disconnect you from the server and an error message appears. I can't remember the message and I can't check it right now since I am writing this using my 3DS. I think the plugin which allows you to pick up dropped spawners is corrupted.

It possibly isn't on the server as there are no plugins yet last I heard.
Try telling notch that destroying spawners crashes the client?

I would think it would be more an outdated plugin issue, I haven't changed anything config wise so if the plugin wasn't broke it should still work as it did on the old map.

I've heard of people getting messages about not having permissions, but never of someone being kicked for placing a spawner

Just to confirm, When a person breaks a spawner, it drops, but it also drops the player from the server with an error.
When I got back on, I could pick up the spawner, but haven't tried placing it yet.

Same thing happened to me. I wrote it down thinking it would be of you to you guys : D. Anyway the error message is : internal server error. However it did not affect anything besides kicking me so I still got the spawner.
