Minetest is basically a clone of minecraft, but it's open-source and coded in C++ rather than in shitty Java. While Minecraft's verticle limit is 128 blocks in the air, Minetest can comfortably handle 31,000 in either direction. It's still early in development, but looks damn promising, especially since Mojang is pretty much done updating Minecraft. Also, it has much better optimization; I got a steady 60 fps with everything maxed, while I get around 45 with tiny render distance on Minecraft. Check it out, so far it looks pretty cool.
