Spawn needs fixing

I used /spawn. Got a text message on my phone so hey, left it up. No more than 15 seconds later I find I'm dead. Apparently Zuwrath saw someone push me off and collected all my stuff. Kinda lame he didn't give it back but hey, I'm not raging. I just think the spawn should be fixed so people can't be killed there.

Edit: Whats also interesting is that when I died it showed me as dying on top of the spawn. I guess if people push you it doesn't show it on your screen till you move. So I looked safe, then suddenly killed. This is the main problem.

I'm not really sure what you mean, if you AFK at spawn there isn't a way for anyone to kill you.

There are holes in the stairs.
You can hit the glowstone on the way down.
You can hit the bricks at the bottom.
Etc.

That's the thing Orc, there is. I afked at the spawn and Zuwrath witness someone push me round and some how kill me. I wish I took a screenshot now but my death screen was at the top of the spawn. But I have seen people die jumping into the water.

People die by jumping into the water by holding w on the way down. I don't know how you can fix people being plain retarded.

I hit the glowstone before, but I tried to, I have no idea how you could have died
if someone just pushed you...

let me leave this message to everyone that complains about that fall. Either u can just press "disconnect from server" so u dont get killed.

or we can remove the fall and you can all use the stairs?

serious, its not hard to press the disconnect button.. i do it all the time, even for a toilet break

I didn't say I saw the guy do it. I said I'm sure that guy did it.

There was a guy trying to punch you for a good 30 seconds until you died in the water. I only assumed he pushed you in. Otherwise, there's no way of knowing how you got in.

He probably pushed him in the fall and let him drown in the water

and this happened in 15 seconds? where the heck can someone push you in 15 seconds...

Pretty far, actually.

Which is why I always afk with No Push on, there's a solution, although it would encourage the use of griefing clients

Freddy, there's no harm in assessing whether a problem can be fixed. I'm sure most people would agree that the spawn should be the safest place on the map. Obviously I won't make the mistake again, I lost my items. I'm just raising the problem now before someone looses thier whole bank to this.

I saw silentprotector (I think that's their name) getting pushed at spawn today. The person pushed them into the water and I waited at the top so I could tp them back up. Is it so hard for people to just disconnect?

Thanks for the information. One issue is that I have seen people fall and die - so it is possible. The second is my death screen showed me dead at the top of the spawn. Since I was pushed in and not responding to minecraft my character must have moved but without the screen updating. Everything looked perfectly fine till death popped up.

No, it's not. But if there is a simple fix to this problem why be afraid to correct it? As I mentioned, one would assume the spawn to be the safest area. Perhaps if it can't be fixed a simple sign warning players would be of benefit.

You are saying it can be fixed, then what is the solution...

I didn't say there was a fix. I said 'if' there is a fix. And I then gave a small solution should there be no fix.

In fact, I could think of a fix. Add a block in front of the drop, that way people can't push you in. So if people want to go down, they just jump on the block, and then walk down.

Or you could do the opposite. Around the drop point, make the platform drop one block. So if people try to push you in, you fall into the one block gap (I'm guessing you can't push someone up a block).

How does that sound?

You are saying that spawn shall be the safest place on the map. Allright i can live with that... but that is no escuse for staying afk...

not to be rude ofc, but did you actually think that we made every single point in the tower, for people that is afk and at keyboard?
ofc not.. we made the spawn so you can play on it, not stay AFK.

I will fix it if i get a order to do it..

As said before not a huge deal, but if it will make you happy fred will fix it

I don't want to repeat myself but like I said, it's very easy to kill someone without them even realising and very quickly too. I'm obviously not going to make that mistake again. Like I said, I'm just flagging the issue up since I expect you will have a lot of people complaining about spawn kills and fixing it will save your staff plenty of complaints. Again this is in the requests section and not the complaints. I leave it with you to decide what to do.

Most people who complain about getting killed in the spawn tower are mostly idiots. The tower is obviously not built so that you can afk in. If you want to afk make a 1x1 hole in the ground or /home.

Edit: the best is to log out like Freddy said.

Block the entrance to the drop with something, so you can't be pushed into it without your knowing.

And/Or...

Extra water depth if it's true people are dieing from the drop.

I tl;dr'd most of the posts here. But I read the suggestion about removing the fall... which I believe was not meant to be serious.

But there is one thing I can tell: Signs + Falsebook = Elevators
What do you think about that?

that's dumb, the way water currents work would make everyone fall into the secret room whether they were playing or not. Disconnect when you're AFK, when you're just standing there, you hog server resources for no reason

hmmm...something like this, but larger?

What if we just enable /nopush whenever you in the spawn zone?
