PvP Bounty

I think it will give a solution if someone pvps you and you want revenge just set a bounty. I think we should dry run it

While it would stimulate PvP Combat (always nice) it seems a bit unfair, even downright broken, that donators could just teleport to their target and so score an easy kill.

I wont lol but how will we know their location?And I think the Rule 2 will apply

I think it is against clear rules not to teleport kill, and if you do you will lose the privilege?

As much as I'd like to say "I can trust all donators with the commands they're given", the history with TangyLimeOrgasm suggests otherwise, may have to rethink this. Although it is against the rules to teleport kill I would be unable to scrounge any evidence past the victim's word and possibly a few lines of chat text from the server log.

I'd be fully for this. Though tracking them down would be QUITE hard with our huge map .

Alternatively, if you want to promote PvP Combat, we could organize weekly gladiator fights. Every contestant pays an entree fee, two to six contestans enter an arena and the last one standing takes the pot. To mix things up we could hold team vs team battles or throw in some arrow/tnt-traps and pissed off spiders to keep everyone on guard.

Not only does this keep the "WAHWAHHESTOLEMYSTUFF" down but it would also mean we got a weekly get together where everyone can socialize and bet on who is going to be torn limb from limb next.

This sounds good Filler. Should do fort wars aswell, two teams get a limited amount of time to build a fort, then they have storm the eachothers fort, using tools to get through the walls etc. Make it a capture the flag sort of thing?

i think it should be CTF, i assume there are no mods for this so it should be a obsidian block that 1 both teams have, they have to dig the other teams up and bring it to the middle, or their base, i think using obsidian is great because it takes teamwork to guard a teammate for 15 seconds (with diamond picks) 1 minute (without). there could be a sandbox type arena that both team can set up a base at. i think having something like this would be amazing, wether it be infection zombie type thing or this!

I'm still interested in this bounty thing aswell though, is there anyway to prevent people killing after they've teleported?

Also if there's logs, we should know when someones used teleport or not.

Gross, and I think it's a good idea, except, this is only fair for the /tp using crowd.
So no, this would kind of unbalance the servers PvP.

I dont think so, the only ppl who can use /tp are donaters+

well, ppl could be tp killing ppl now as well, considering ppl carry lots of stuff on them. I'd rather get items than gil.

Teleport killing is not allowed, anyone who's reported to me for doing this will find themselves demoted if the logs support the claims against them. Adding a PvP plugin will not change this rule.

Hmm.... Not a bad idea. You could always check to see if someone teleports in the bb log that you have orc. It shows every line they typed. so if i was up for bounty they typed /tp gamemaster1494 then you would know they killed me if i said WTF!? then they said i said surprise etc...

I astoundingly HATE pvp. >.> I'm cool with this as long as I don't fall victim to a "Lets put a bounty on Rulyon for the hell of it" prank.

This bounty system has many flaws that other can't see.

First of all, it's the rewards part of it that would somehow "encourage" PvP. Point here is, it won't. If people are interested in PvP, they would already be out there looking for people to kill. The big deterrence right now is that the world is extremely large, and takes a ridiculously long time to traverse. Anyone who wouldn't PvP because of this, would still opt out of PvP when bounties are involved.

Second, I believe this is a classic "New Toy" case that everyone succumbs to. For the first day everything seems wonderful. You use it a lot, and you are very happy. After a few days pass, you grow less and less interested by it. And after about a week, it's just like every other toy out there. If Orcworm puts in the time to enable this mod, it would more then likely sit unused after about a week.

Lastly, there is a major problem between the implementation and the community. Who can put bounties on who? What are the limits for a bounty? How long does the bounty last for? Why was the bounty put in place? I'm afraid that people are greedy enough to break into others homes, "griefing them", and killing them for a relatively small bounty. Some people are greedy, and they will do almost anything for gil. As well, this brings immense power to the rich. Those who have a lot of gil can shove their weight around by threatening bounties on peoples heads because they didn't get items at a bargain price, or because someone doesn't like another person's opinion.

This addon has a little bit of potential, but it has a LOT of grief associated with it as well. The community is not responsible enough to use this fairly, or in a way that you request. I can guarantee that a LOT of problems will be caused by enabling this mod.

only... we have read through the plugin and we are aware of this... however, you can set a time for how long bounties will stick e.g 24h. So then just dont play for 24 hours. this way ppl wont spend all their gil on placing a bounty since it will just be a waste if that person doesnt get on for a couple pf days.

I really like the idea of this mod. It seems fun, and yes i know i haven't been on for awhile.
