Having only seen the skin-file (minecraft.net/skin/krios101.png) I putting my bets on Isaac from Golden 1/2 or his son Matthew.

Yeah Golden Sun needs more love. Dark Dawn wasn't that great since most of the plot seems postponed to a (hypothetical) sequel. Though the Crystal Dragon was an awesome throwback to that awesomely weird commercial.
