MCServer (C++ Alternative to default server software)

So, whilst browsing the forums I came across this, anyone else heard of it?

I was testing it out on my home server, 13MB RAM usage per player, 27MB idling with 1 player on...
We could technically run 450 slots using this.

Awesome. Fragmer also rewrote the whole game, but Notch scammed him because he only knows Java... >.<

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm while the performance is nice what are the actual features of the server? Yeah, I thought so.

And Fraggles and that-other-dude-I-can't-remind-the-name-off didn't get scammed. They got paid (eventually) for their work, treated like dirt and got their work on an actual efficient backend thrown back into their face because El Notch hates non-crappy languages. But not scammed.

Dude, they did the work and only got paid 1/8th the cash, just because notch didn't use his code...

Really? AFAIK they did get paid in full. Still an incredible dick move though.

Haha, yeah, the things I've found so far are no mobs & tnt doesn't work, so basically useless unless you like building.

On another note, how did the 'friendship' between Fragmer and Lim come to be? I assume many other servers also use fCraft, does he visit the other larger ones to troubleshoot?

I'll watch it the project... could get intresting.

I'm not sure why they know each other, but autoranks came about when SpA didn't like how rank obsessed the playerbase had become. So I think fragmer works on stuff there, before he fully releases anything.
