Can't get in!!

ok i have deleted minecraft fully off my coputer and downloaded all the minecraft launchers that where advised on this forum and i have got MC launcher 1.2 and still i can't get on i have tried for the last 2 days and since the new update it always says 'outdated server','end of stream' or something about java client and i am unable to get onto the server?

please help,

Ok, for the final answer, do are you running Windows OS?

Edit: Well, I tried. Posted within 2 minutes of yours, and you disappeared. Why ask a question and not bother to stick around for the answer... especially when it's been posted many times elsewhere? O.o So much for working with you to figure out what you're doing wrong.

yes i am running widows OS. i might of closed the tab but i wouldn't expect an answer straight after i posted the question.

Anyways have you checked your firewall settings? Maybe the new loader which you use (or at least I think you use, it's kinda hard to read) isn't allowed through.

As I can only update the server to new versions of MC when all/most of our Mods can be updated, we tend to have phases now and then where we are running an older version of MC. As Notch obfuscates all his coding, this can take days, depending on the update and the availability of devs to port the Mods.

Download MC 1.2

If you were clever, you would not have auto-updated your client. Luckily, there is a simple solution.

The MC client that currently works on the server is the same client you have been using until the latest MC update, you can download it once again here, or use your own archived version.

Install

On Windows:

1) Hit the Start button.

2) Write %AppData%\.minecraft\bin in the white search box, this takes you to the MC folder.

3) There you will see a file named minecraft.jar and a file named "version".

4) Overwrite the minecraft.jar there with the version you've just downloaded from the link above.

Done! You can now run Minecraft as normal, do not double-click the .jar there, that is not the way to start MC, just use the shortcut you had, on your desktop for example.

To let your client auto-update again simply delete the "version" file as shown above, then start MC.

do i delete both minecrfat.jar & 'version' from the bin file then insert the one i just downloaded? because when i did it was 'done loading' but the green bar stopped like 5cm from the end and it just froze?
