    Yeah we need to decide on this, it would be a much nicer looking place without, but I heard the towns would eventually become like factions, battling one another and also allying with eachother (Is this still planned?), if so, I think an open plan would be highly unpractical...

    Eastern/desert cities almost always have walls, sandstone would be perfect for it.

    Think of the walls of Carthage or Alexandria or something like that.

    But yes, most large ancient desert cities had large stone walls. Ever played Assassin's Creed 1? EVERY city had a humongous stone wall (which, sadly, made all the environments kind of blur together, but Abydos will have much more defining characteristics... plus there aren't any other major desert cities on the server).

    The environments were one of the best parts of Assassin's Creed. Ancient cities like Damascus always had huge defensive walls.

    Filler has a formula for zoning costs universally and we intend to go by that (not sure if I can make said formula public or not).

    That formula is for extending the city zones beyond the initial 175x175. It gives values that are WAAAY too high for plots.

    After abit of research I'm abit sceptical about this whirlpool,
    If aapl could please explain what hes gonna do it would be much appreciated, after much browsing I have not seen a spiral whirlpool in minecraft yet...

    I always have said that any rent money should be used for city improvements. That you guys decide to sell plots instead of rent them out as suggested is not my problem.

    To be honest, we may have about 30 plots in Abydos?
    Managing rent on them would be, painful.
    I suppose we should have some rented plots, around the whirlpool maybe? and the entrance? But renting every plot would be, rather hard, unless we employ a rent esque plugin, there any out there? Smile

    Hard? Oh come on. The city council consist of three people so 30 plots / 3 = 10 plots per person. Surely you should be able to manage that much?

    I think managing rent shall will be manageable. But, plugins such as (forget its official name) bank/treasuries for city's money would be highly helpful for managing such things.

    Edit: Oh yeah, btw Dan its impossible to create an actual circular motion, but still it will look great have faith! Smile

    Apologies for Double post, (unsure wether people will realize this is new news!)

    Lizard and Dan please check the Dirt that has been placed in the square, its to represent how i think we could lay out the town. As if we have like 3 or more large squares, each one appearing after every 3 of the water drops as you will see and we flatten on each stage to be flatland and place sandstone/sand as bottom tile and then create pathways/bridges ext.

    Sorry if i haven't explained this well, whatcha think?

    The coords are 3450,65,-1236 Gamer. You forgot the minus. Also be aware that it currently TPs you smack dab in the middle of the whirlpool construction so get your compass out asap.
