Hi everyone

I would really love to have some sort of a killboard on the Orcworm server. I have tried looking for such a plugin, but have not been able to find one. But surely there must be one? Maybe someone better at finding stuff than me could have a look?

This would be awesome because this would make your efforts in pvp publicly known, and would make pvp more attractive.

If there is no such plugin/mod available yet, the staff should keep their eyes open for it, because someone who has played awesome games like Eve-online will start playing minecraft, and miss their killboards

I'm thinking a web-page, that the server fills up with data, so that you can see how many kills one has. See each kill, what was dropped and so on.

Something like this, only simpler, since it's Minecraft, not awesome spaceships

That looks cool too, but i'm more thinking of like stats, on who killed who, when, and with what. Earlier today a player said in chat that he and his friends had killed me 17 times. This was a blatant lie, and I wish I could just point him to the KB where it would tell the truth. I have not been pvp killed after the new map. Such a killboard would also keep rankings on who kills the most, best k/d and so on.

That's actually a very interesting idea. I'd be interested in it.

MCStats is too basic, it wont show who killed who etc. We do however already have heroicdeath which saves all deaths to a log file. Is the log file stored on the same server as the website? Me and ekkek might write a script that will parse the log file and present statistics.

Methinks that, although it would be a good idea, the 2 factions (namely the one WITH the white/red/blacklists already in place)will abuse said system, causing even MORE drama.

Other than that, I'm all for it. :3

I've looked through the datafiles it seems pretty straight forward to write the code needed. Would you be able to give me an account with very limited access on the server? And just symlink the death_data.log to my /home? This will be needed for testing. I'll put the data into a mySQL database on my webserver for the time being.

I do not need access to the minecraft-server, or anything like that.

The datacollection part has now been written and is already running, updating a database. I will start on the actual web-pages tonight or tomorrow.

If anyone have any suggestions on stats they want, now it is time to spill your wishes.

Additional stats if at all possible from your current dataset:
- Time spent online
- Amount of blocks placed
- Amount of blocks mined (substats based on type of blocks)
- "Chattiness"

Probably not possible but would be nice to have.

At the moment, it only reads the heroicdeath logs. So without any change it's limited to time of death, type of death and location of death.

When they introduce the achievements you should be able to check your own block stats though.
