Orcworm Spleef Arena - Yay/Nay?

Title says it all, before one investigates into such a arena i wanted to hear some thoughts and opinions from the minions of Orcworm.

The plan is to make this not just one spleef arena, but maybe 3 or four. Consisting of (obv) Dirt, and others possibly being Leaf and Snow themed.

Give some of your ideas and tell me if you actually want this to go ahead, and why.

If you don't want a offical spleef arena please state so and why.

My suggestion would be to let people buy sheers from a chest, for 1 gil. Make the spleefing area Leaf, so it would be easier for us.

To Ryo: Location still undecided, may take a random piece of land do some magic and flatten it (you know what i mean), or i may actually strategically choose a space for it. (This'd be best obv).

There are tons of them, but not an official one. You would have to make it epic with obstacles to get my approval.
But who really cares about my approval...

If there are enough regular players I don't mind adding a spleef plugin as well, just FYI.

There's one in Wise Megacity, although I admit it's rarely used and somewhat difficult to get to.

Mm, I suggested it too, but I guess something 'closer to home' would be better for new players.

How about you actually make use of that under-spawn area instead of making it just pretty looking?

Just replace bedrock with dirt and watch peeps fall into the void. Much lulzier than falling into lava, methinks.

My opinion over this is that honestly, even if it were frequently used, which I doubt it would, Who would operate it? Who would manually fill in the dirt holes? Nobody wants to do that.

Fix it yourselves and stop Q.Q'in about cleaning it up. Dirt is exceptionally inexpensive. There is ABSOLUTELY NO reason to add a spleef plugin.

Liez! There are plenty of guests that come in the server and when they hear the word spleef...well....them asking where the arena is gets quite annoying after 10 minutes.

Anyways....if not many people would use it why is "no" getting Destroyed in the poll?

Its a novelty. People will use it at first, then if cities will make their own, and the Main one will become useless. People will get bored playing it, and stop.

The main one will always be better than the mini ones. That's why we are asking for a main one, cuz the other ones suck.

Think. If someone makes a better arena, the main one will become unused. And also, if you have an arena in your city, say ~50 blocks away, why would you go to the one at spawn, >~50 blocks away?

Cuz I have a compass, and 50 blocks means nothing to me. I doubt anyone could build a better one that is within 50 blocks of my pws or /home

Obviously this'll have to be located close to home. (Spawn) I also suggest no-one else has access to the possible spleef plugin, or WE to make spleef faster. That'll mean no-one will be able to successfully equalize the management of this "Capital" arena. If such an event where a more appropriate arena is made, it can always be switched round with the old one. I see no problem in "updating" the arena every so often.

Also, other than being used for spleef, i think it's a nice edition to the server. What i mean is, when i first joined the server (you guys probably feel the same), i spawned in the spawn tower (obv). And my god i was impressed! Then i went to the RailRoad that Grintendo made and i almost passed out! (Shoot that doesn't work out ). Seeing a impressive building such as a spleef arena will surely add to this effect.

The only real problem is location. Using the underspawn "could" turn out well, but we'd be limited to shape and size ext, and it won't be sign from all angles obv.

Oh, I'm just working on my gladiator spleef arena.. :3

I'll be online soon, show me what it's like. If it fits, and you would want it added, and it's a good standard we can talk about adding it to the offical arena. Or at-least i'd steal some tips from you

I would like to request we put it somewhere away from spawn I suffer decreased fps in spawn city for some reason, and I know I'm not alone in that. Just put a teleporter in spawn tower somewhere

Yeah good point, pretty much everyone has a some what noticeable difference in spawn tower. But i'd like it to be close ish... But a TelePort in the Spawn Tower and possibly a RailRoad Connection would do the trick!

If it's public like people said it'll die. I'm proposing this is the only Arena that has access to the plugin and WE. Meaning anyone can still make it, but they won't get the bonuses. Obviously this Arena isn't mine, it's the server. So it'll be built by my ideas and all of yours. (If this goes ahead!)

Even if no one uses the plugin frequently, who cares? It's not like Orc has shitty server specs.

If you want an "official" Spleef arena then we _need_ a Spleef plugin. There's nothing worse than having a 5 minute setup time for a 10-second game.

Also... Yeah, big fat no on allowing PvP in the Spleef Arena as Lizzie suggests. It's called Spleef not Death Match.

I have to agree on that one, we had a few matches in Spx' arena a bit earlier today. Trying to dig away the dirt under people usually resulted in killing them :p Only as much as 1/3 deaths was to falling down!

No PVP it is. The only large(ish) problem i see here is the location of such a stadium...

Goodluck with that. I was originally going to make an Arena for Abydos. I thought it'd be unfair for the other cities...

I just wanted PvP so I could raid it, as spleef itself is incredulously stupid.

Futuristic. Circular complex with a large glass dome. Depending on the plugin used ALSO a circular floor, otherwise square made of black wool. Lots of iron. Each contestant enters through a one-way door. Red-stone toggleable lights in the walls around the arena. Think Thunderdome.
