storage auctions!!

while watching a tv show about people who buy abandoned storage units, i thought to myself why couldnt we do that on orcworm.
my idea is that if there is a chests that is totally abandoned we could have an auction for it.
no one will see whats inside just a gamble. this is an idea we dont need to use it.

haha, well, i suppose if orcworm looks in it and approves that it can be up for auction, you shouldn't bid anymore than 10gil...

in other words, your only gonna be allowed to auction on chests full o crap

plus /lb tool gives people a chance to see inside the chest basicly...

no no no, the piont is gambling no lb tools just bid how ever much you want you can get diamonds or dirt, depends on what is in the chest. i will add that there should be a auctioneer like staff or something.

I think you are referring to Storage Wars :3 yeah i've seen it too but most of the time when a noob abandoned there chest theres like a 1 in 10 chance that there is actually something valuable. its a nice idea though

yes i am referring to that lol =P but not neccesarly a noob chest just any random chest your find or when someone leaves sell there chests.

Jarvisd leaves for 3 weeks. We find his chests. Auctioned for like 10 gil. Finds 10,000 diamonds. Win. Comes back 3 weeks later.

This is an ok idea....but not completely perfected. It should be set up, so if everyone invests, and everything is put in a random chest, the chests are auctioned off and no noob that leaves for 2 months will be really mad...

It would be those who are banned. Not Xrayers though.

yes im talking about banned people people leaving for sure and just random chests that orcworm says are auctionable,
obviously we will need someone that can unlock chests once someone wins. *cough* staff *cough*

I dont think people will try and sneak into my house and say oh looky here this must be Ryoman's chest he hasnt been on in like 2 weeks lets auction it off huuurr duuur :S

I don't think there is a plugin that would be able to do something like that, as far as me doing it manually is concerned... no ;p.

What about any staff member? Either posting in the forums or simply saying in chat that an abandoned chest auction is about to start and people then start bidding, we dont need a plugin for such a thing.. ;p

I doubt xrayers would have many goodies these days, they can only see about 1/16 of the ores.

You get the point . But seriously, this can't end well. We're bound to come across the situation where a "Abandoned storage unit(s)", isn't actually abandoned.

If it's longer than a month ago that he/she logged in or has been banned for a week then I would say it's pretty abandoned.

Still, there will always be cases. Anyway, we've said before we don't want to lower prices of objects and we're looking for money sinks. I don't think this will help.

Just burn the crap. Else imma just "auction" off chests of dirt I just so happened to "find" lol ^^

with the abandoned chest with players gone over a month staff should first check to see if that person is on holidays or said anything about leaving. this will also re-enforce people making sure to tell that they're leaving.

This sounds like too much work...
