Massive Griefing in Kumatora Village Empty Massive Griefing in Kumatora Village

    Post by NeroTheDarklord 2011-03-09, 10:42

I will only tell what i have seen to my fullest knowledge of truth.
Just a couple of minutes ago, i was near the docks in kumatora village when suddenly the server began to lag. After the lag was over, iwas heading back to my house and noticed that several blocks were missing from it and all the lava and water started to flow completely out of control.
    here are some pictures:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Over time, i noticed more and more blocks keep disappearing and the water and lava keep finding more ways to spread in and out my house. As my brother SPGiygas arrived on the server, we observed the rest of the village and found several other strange structures and edits we are unsure if they are ment to be or not.

A random structure above a house

    Missing half blocks

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

    a random tree cluster

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

missing blocks in the kumatora church

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

the lava trash bin is missing its lava and some more holes are there now

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I talked to an admin about the case and he said that in the records, it was myself who broke the blocks keeping the lava and water under control. By my best knowledge of what the truth is, i have to say that this is not possible. Not only was i over 20 blocks away from my house when that happened, also there were several blocks all over my house missing at the same time, including obsidian blocks which take more than a second to break. How can it be any possible that i would be able to break several blocks at different locations and of different material at the perfect same time?

Well this is for what i know... i would really appreciate help. Best would be a rollback. Thank you for taking your time.

This has got to be the work of a 'custom' client, I can't see it being anything else.

Well when exactly where these changes happening? i cant clearly get that from the messages in the pictures.
I do admit that i have been editing my house a bit ago but the thing is that multible obsidian and glass blocks disappeared within less than a second after the "lag" as i described it ended

This clearly proves my point. Someone rolled back environment without a radius constrant and all blocks touching any flowed lava disappeared and boom you got this. You described lag, that comes with rollbacks. Lava is still there because you placed the original lava so it didn't remove that. That is my opinion. I think this is solved then.

Perhaps it was God undoing his actions!

This seems like a likely idea too, but skoglol claimed it was happening one after the other.

Seemed to me that way since the griefwhine in chat had already started as I logged on, but that may very well have been another kind of grief.

Well it takes a bit for people to detect griefs, like since Iwasn't on I didn't find out for hours . Also based on banning and unbanning of 'environment' this could be a second rollback.

The thread is still open as other Mods+ will probably be dealing with the damage too (e.g. Orcworm fixed the lava)

I don't see the interest in the urge to lock every topic, it's not as if the forums uses too much Bandwidth?

Just a FYI everyone. The Mass Grief in my village was caused by that rollback discussed in [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. A theorie was mentioned there when someone rolls back someone's edits without giving a radius, it may cause blocks next to lava to disappear. Nero had some Lava around his house, you can think the rest for yourself I guess. I already repaired some damage on the streets of Kumatora and on Nero's house due to the fact that the rollback wont happen. The glass blocks are repaired but there are still some missing obsidian blocks.
