Wee77snaw using compass for pvp.

So today I was out pvping and wee77snaw was following me. When i saw someone, i started to run towards them, but Wee77snaw decided to use a compass to get there first. After that, I attacked her and she used the compass to get away. This has got to be against the rules, and others have complained about similar incidents.

Ugh...I just wanted a nice sunday...


Heres what happend:

Mike and i were pvping and we both spotted a person with a diamond pick. We both ran after him (i was clearly ahead of mike) and i killed him and got the stuff. I WAS lagging which may have looked like i was compassing to him, but i was not. After i picked up the pick mike started attacking me. Without thinking i just compassed (Once) away from him and then /home. If using compass to get away from someone isnt allowed, im sorry but i just got scared .

Wee77snaw that's just not true. I saw you equip a compass and click multiple times...

So it'd be ok for them to check the logs and not find anything, correct?

If they check the logs they will see me compassing around. But when i saw the guy i stopped using compass. Until mike tried to assinate me...

well, technically it's still using an unfair advantage in PVP, even if it's for running away, but that's just my 2 cents ;p

I thought I heard that it's always legitimate to escape in PVP. Ie, you can warp away to /home or /spawn, you can tp away, even use magic carpet to run away.

But you can't use any of those things to attack people offensively. That's what I had heard, but not sure if its the case.

Exactly! I used it to run away, not to kill the guy. 50 points for Vespa.

Yeah, I mean if it isn't allowed for people to use TP to get away, half the donators in the server TP away when I get within stabbing range.

But if he compass TPed a bit far away, healed, and compass Tped back to attack, then that would be against the rules definitely. But escaping anyone can do pretty quick, by going /spawn or something.

well, home and spawn are available to everybody and need to be typed(enough time to die standing there), it's a cheap dick move but not prohibited, I think. Compass is equipped and only available to certain people. I'd say that since some things are prohibited for attack, they should be for escape as well, especially if you keep attacking others and evading them giving them no chance to fight back.
Again, that's just personal opinion. Either you pvp fair and square all the way (no unavailable advantages) or you don't.

/compass, /home, or /spawn to run away is allowed, broh. As long as you don't /compass or /tp to come back and kill right after you've run away.

The problem is, Wee used compass to get to someone who was running away in order to pvp them. Without compass, this wouldn't have been possible, and is a clear abuse of power.

Oh, I thought you were complaining about him using compass to escape.

But yeah, if he used the compass to zoom over and kill someone, that's definitely TP killing. Should show up in the logs.

Which player were you both after to begin with?

Yeah, it's a little difficult to pinpoint anything without a name. There's literally 1000s of lines of log.
