So, I was wondering, what texture packs do you guys use?

    I tried Doku's pack:

Meh, can't tell the difference from 16x16 to 256x256, or whatever the max is.

I really suggest the painterly pack. It may take more thought than a normal pack, but you might be immensely more satisfied with the results that with something else where you might say something like, "Oh, I like the look of the wood blocks but the glass is still messy," because you could just go back to the website and fix whatever you thought was wrong. It only takes a few minutes to set up and I think the way I have mine set up makes minecraft look amazing. Go to painterlypack.net and go to the customization page where you choose what sort of textures you want on everything. Highly recommended!

I tried Painterly around the Halloween update... it was nice but I had a rough time figuring out which block was which, it's definitely a lot different than the default textures, that's for sure.

My personal favorite is Aza's Arid Pack (x128) (Orc, the more pixels the better the quality. However it eats your RAM)

Here's a video that shows how some biomes look like with Aza's Arid Pack.

The halloween version changed like... every block, so I just used a personalized version

This was a mAJOR necro. But I point out that I too prefer John Smith.
