Something at spawn causing huge FPS drop.

I thought I'd mention that. First time this happened (at least to me) was today. I get the biggest fps drop right next to my shop (first screenshot, around 5 to 15fps), as a comparison the following screenshots are taken from the 2 exits (40-50 fps and around 90).

I'm not sure what exactly is causing this, though I'm suspecting the cart dispensing system right under the spot I stand in the first pic. There have been some idiots spamming the minecarts (gave the ones I found to Pure) causing them to go back and forth and bugging into each other constantly.

If it is indeed the cause, might I suggest a different delivery system for empty carts? Thanks!

My FPS always goes to shit in New Orcshire. Literally, always.

Methinks it *may* be due to all the portals but that's possibly not true because it has dropped my FPS prior to the Nether's accessability.

Yeah, it always went down a little, but that much as to being almost unplayable is new to me.

Lol, its fine for me, maybe a drop of 100 fps, but hey! I have 300 left!
However, its caused by the massive amount of trolls spawning carts.. We should get that old system back (Chestshops for minecarts)

Lag from torches not much from anything else

Set kill timer to 3 seconds on all minecart variants after restart.

i literally have 4fps in the spawn city, its so laggy i cant right click sign shops

The spawn takes a long time to load for me but no FPS Lag.

Apparently the amount of signs in an area also affects client FPS.

Oh, that is going to be a problem.

After that restart and the 3 seconds timer, works fine again to me, nice 25-30 fps at least, thanks!

Seems there's some definite client lag, I'm getting ~50 but ofcourse that's bearable ;p.

I have 25 FPS on a good day. In spawn, it's still about 8.

Not NEARLY as bad for me now though. I mean, there's lag but that's expected with all the signs in spawn.

Those signs in spawn really should be taken down. The only ones that should be there are the ones telling people what to find in the shop, and the signs for the chest shops. But the "billboard" signs planted helter-skelter all over the place really should go.

I'll remove mine too, you just might want to inform the other shop keepers in New Orcshire (as well as the subway station ;p ).

Though I might suggest one thing: What about an "official" billboard at the two main outside entrances (more or less where I took the last 2 screenshots), one shop gets only 1 spot for a sign (even if someone has more than 1 plot, 1 structure 1 sign to be fair), pretty much organized like a map of the town then.

If you're ok with this I could build it, modifications or removal could always be decided when it's done. See it as a gift to the town :3

Since the signs are the problem ill go remove some of them too and i like your idea of making a billboard for the town shops hope someone is considering it

Also, if it really is the torches that cause this much lag (and not other light sources), I drastically reduced the use and replaced with glowstone/jacks. seems like I get quite a boost for now. :O

As of 1.5 the FRS counter has a bug, one that makes it show the chunk updates instead of Fps.

Proof: Look in the oictures and see the FPS and Chunk Updates.

I don't know what happened, but in the last few days my FPS in spawn has dropped ridiculously low. Used to be at around 30 in spawn, now its down to 15 or less. Something is killing the engine around there.

Nice gravedigging posts vesp they said in the post that they would try to fix it
