Donation for the server? Empty Donation for the server?

    Post by freddy705 2011-05-10, 21:35

Hello. My name is Freddy705 ingame and freddy outside Very Happy

I want to donate to the server as soon as possible but i realy wonder about one thing:

"How much is it currently donated?"

maybe create a tab at homepage for people to view how much amount of cash the server currently have? maybe that a good idea because loyal players will donate to keep the server up if they know how much it still needs to be up

    Shocked

So far I've just been collecting donations for each month and stockpiling if I get 'too much' for one month, for example.

Last month I spent £200 on an upgrade, thanks to a £100 donation yesterday it's just about covered though. Server costs are currently £60 / month.

Some on the side for me would be nice of course - but this is a hobby, not a job, hence nothing is going into my pocket.

    Post by freddy705 2011-05-10, 21:53

what i mean is that it should be visual to others how much cash the server currently has. seen it at other homepages and it is very usefull. For example

Servers currently donation amount is at: xxxx euros

what i say is that we need to be informed if the server have problems with monay to be kept online.

a nice server like this deserve to be online, because its great! cat

thinking about donating 25 dollars some time in this week but when i do i pm

I've considered some sort of bar like that in the past... but I get the feeling it would require a manual update every time someone donates, I'm too lazy for that sort of thing ;p.

Anyway, I'll see if I can find one that links well with Paypal tonight.

Too bad "we" also get royally fucked over on "import tax" on consumer electronics. If it's $250 you can bet your ass if will be €250/250 pound ($360/$408) at the local electronics shop.

So yeah... better economy except everything is (comparatively) also damn expensive.

Amazon for some reason REQUIRES you to use a credit card, which automatically makes it shit for most people on this side of the pond as those are NEARLY not as common as over in eagleland. Hell, I don't know ANYONE who has a CC. People here just use direct bank transfers or PayPal.

    Bluh bluh.

Back on topic and without fancy slang: Amazon sucks balls for Europeans since it only accepts credit cards which are not nearly as common here as they are in America. To this day I still do not understand why they do not accept bank transfers. Paypal I can understand, seeing as it's owned by their competitor eBay, but fricking bank transfers?

admittedly that is a problem, so i use Amazon Uk, same problems for people in other parts of europe but at least no cash is lost when the CC badly convert, or does not convert the currency atall...

Credit Cards are tools of the devil. Well, worse. They keep you in debt FOREVER. Raechel and I don't own a single credit card, and have agreed we never will, either. If we can't afford to pay cash for it, we're not buying it. All we have is our ATM Check Card, functions conveniently like a credit card (swipe it, your done) but it transfers money from our checking account instead of deepening the credit loan from a CC company. Keep track of our funds with out Check Register, or can check our available balance at a moment's notice by text message.

That's not true. Payment is possible *at least* in Germany and Austria and definately also more europe countries via automatic bank collection. That's very comfortable. Also the shipping and support is very good making Amazon the #1 mail order company.
