It's unlimited play time, yes... HOWEVER, You only get 90 minutes per world before it locks up, and you can't edit anything else. Meaning, you can create as many worlds as you want, but the worlds themselves are limited.
That being said, it's a very good demo to start people on. If you get people to play 2-3+ worlds of Minecraft, they will definitely want to buy it.
