Yeah, but when IDK if my question/suggestion will sound stupid, I just bring it up somewhere to see people's reactions instead of making a thread... It's like when I asked to be forum admin. :3

There's still that thread in the SSSS that is sort of related, I guess it wouldn't hurt to try that scraper.

Re: Terraria General
...Okay, Thanks for restarting the server for us, and Kudos on the new map, let's not grief it to shit now XD.
Writing here to mention another problem I ran into. I was in the underworld and saw a Gold Chest, was like ooooooh and I looked in it and there were some Restoration Potions... So I quick grab those while being chased by Hellbats and drop them into my inventory --- JUST as I dropped them in, I was kicked from the server, with the message: "Please Create A New Character: Error 0x02"
I can use the character on my single-player maps, and I can use OTHER characters on the server - But not the one I was using when I was kicked.
Anyone else seen this problem? Know what happened?
EDIT: Found out what happened. The chest had *26* potions in it, higher than the max stack size of 20, so I was being kicked. I sorted it out though.

ZuWrath wrote:Avalon wrote:Hey there, just came looking for a forum topic for the Terraria server to post a quick problem/question on.
When trying to connect to your server, it says "Found Server" but it hangs there. I would understand if the server were offline, but the various signature images on this post say "Online" at this time, and Terraria itself has of course "Found the server". I have been on the server in the past, so I know I can at least connect to it.
So uh, if the Terraria Client can (haz) "Found Server" then where is it?
If thats the case, just post in here, and I will restart it for ya.
How do you restart?
Edit : Nvm, I saw Orc's post about the 4 OPs.

Anyways, it's stuck at "connecting to <number>"... does that mean the server's down? Anyone to confirm if it is?

The server has coming on and off all day. If it says 'Found Server' or says 'Connecting to (insert IP here)' and does nothing for 30 seconds; then it's down.

Re: Terraria General
I reset the whole server, worked on fixing some bugs, and everything. So, it is normal that you saw it go on and off.
Also, note: Last night I turned it on before going to bed. The VPN was logged off or something (Orc, explain this to me lol).
And also note again: I said SERVER not MAP.

I fixed it, but im not a mod...again. Can you fix that krellyn.
And btw the "hacked" item was a stack of 100 sticky bombs that i picked up on the server last night.

Yeah, they stack at 20 a stack. That's why it kicked you. I assume you have a Dynamtic IP.
Since you are a Moderator, you can have stacks of items past the limit, but since your IP changed, you're not a Moderator anymore, so it kicked you. Be wary of that.
What is your new IP?

Ryan Keller thinks someone used a Script Injection, he thinks we should (temporarily, 2 hrs) shut down the server
Also, what's the VPS file type?

Re: Terraria General
(As for my authority, I'm a Python programmer. I'm 16 so I don't have a legitimate career)
There's a high possibility that someone could have done what I've relayed to Gamer, which is either use an ice breaker on the password and/or inject a script into the VPS to reassign the variables and fuck things up. This isn't a difficult thing to do, actually.
We can either give the server some cooldown time in hopes that we don't have the injector come back, or we can change the VPS file to ROM.

What does that mean, exactly?
And to ZuWrath, does tMod v3 not support chat / command logging anymore? The server.txt file that used to be located in the terraria directory is nowhere to be found.
Things would be much easier if this crap software supported Linux, I must've said that a thousand times now.

Re: Terraria General
Orcworm, ROM is read-only memory. That means Krellyn can't edit it but scripts can't be injected. Again I've never worked with C# or whatever TMOD is programmed with, but it seems like it should be a possibility depending on what the VPS filetype is.

Re: Terraria General
*blink* Maybe this a totally retarded statement but I am assuming that with VPS you mean Virtual Private Server? How does a server equal a file and how could one change that file to be Read Only Memory? I'm willing to accept that there are point in the Terraria-software where one could execute an injection-type attack but I very much doubt it could be done on the VPS itself. Enlighten this heathen please.

As Filler stated, I'm not sure how the two are supposed to intertwine ;p.
I'm totally out of the loop on this one, need to dedicate some more Killing Floor time to Windows server management.

Krellyn calls it the VPS but I'm under the impression that it's a config file. Sorry, I should've clarified.

Re: Terraria General
In that case changing the config-file to read-only (ROM is a TOTALLY different thing) is probably not the best solution. Why? Well if they somehow got access to the config-file (probably an exploit in Terraria itself and not actually hacking of servers) then a simple flag is not going to stop them. You could try, but I have my doubts whether it would be successful or even possible given that that thing isn't writable for no good reason.
