Anyone good with [gate]?

Basically the entrance to the town is a large gate, before i never incorporated it with false-book, but i think it'd work well. So far i've got no where and lost almost all the fences that were placed. Anyone any good at this that can give me a hand?

Redstone all to one switch and all of that fancy stuff isn't absolutely necessary, but getting it to completely close without the middle having a few blocks missing would be good.

I know how todo redstone with gates. I did one in the railstation and I know how to do a locked gate (when you press the button it won't open) I can copy filmjolks design
