I think it's time we used a different word.

To be blunt, I was a little upset tonight when GFunnyMoney started calling things gay, and made remarks out of poor taste. Naturally, I kicked him, and kicked a few people who chimed in on some remarks.

I treat homophobic slurs much like racial ones - by giving them a boot or two.

If I was wrong in this aspect, so be it. I am to pick my battles, and as a gay person, homophobia is a hill I am willing to die on. It's unnecessary, and just because we're on a server doesn't mean I should be subjected to it. We can use a different word to describe something.

I probably shouldn't chime in on this but after sitting through all that chat text for half an hour I'm going to.

Just because someone uses a word you don't like doesn't mean it is an insult.
Just because someone uses a word you don't like doesn't mean you should get mad.
Just because someone uses a word you don't like doesn't mean you should argue over it.
This is the internet, there will always be things you don't like reading or seeing.
This is the internet, people will insult you just because they can.
This is the internet, anonymity makes people "big, fat stupid-heads"
This is the internet, arguing never makes things better.
There is a command for ignoring people.

I did not post this to upset anybody or to talk down to anyone. I just think there are better ways to deal with something than what I saw going on.

+1 to that...i just think you get offended to easily Tangy, it wasn't meant as an insult let alone an insult to you.

The word gay is used today, in such a way that it's an insult.
If I were you Tangy, I would have acted the same way.

I don't see what was wrong with Tangy kicking them, being gay myself I treat that word as worse as C*** or F***.

This isn't the sole reason for his demotion, I mean no offense but have recieved a few PMs in the past few weeks informing me of TLO's attitude or behaviour, I know he means well but everyone takes what people say differently.

Orc, I'd like to talk to you about them later. Like I said, I'm a radical person, but I get shit handled.

Just throwing my 3 cents here (Yes, I have 3), I do agreee that the word gay is used to describe other things, and I think he shouldn't get mad over that, but I DO think saying "...sticks they use to burn gay people..." is discrimination. I do think you acted correctly on this one, Tangy, but I also think your demotion was asked for. There HAVE been many complaints, you know, and most of them with proof. If it makes you feel better, I'm a guest too.
