I kinda agree with you there, but for example of a thought that came to my mind when I saw that glowstone lamp is if it is a single plugin or i something like Runecraft that allows one to do many other stuff.

Doesn't most plugins alter the gameplay in some way, you know, sort of like something the -players- benefit from knowing? Knowing a plugins name lets you research it and find it's use, without the need for someone to write a guide to tell you how it works.
This was kind of my point, people need to know in some way what is available to them so they can research them and find über uses to them and get creative.
Example: until yesterday I had almost no clue that MM was installed and until gamemaster showed me his awsome autofarm-thingys that left me pretty much:
on what is possible to do with that plugin.
Also, i have a spare wood pc that i'd like to run a local server so I can test stuff before I put them out into the wild in here.
About Patrick's server I just have to say one thing: As he "copied" this server, so are many people copying other peoples' servers. The plugins are there, they are free and everyone has access to them so, everyone can make a server that is, in some way, similar to someone elses server cause, from what i've noticed, there is sort of like a standard list of plugins that are somewhat "mandatory" (like WG, WE,Permissions etc).
What makes a comunity a great comuinty, is, not only the people in it, but also the people behind it, namely the administration/staff.
Imo, if you guys want a more lively comunity, an idea would be host some kind of regular events or something cause from what i've noticed, when the server is at its peak, some people would like to do something different other than mine mine mine mine, build build build cause after a while people just get bored and cases the city i'm at happen (aka, turns into a ghost town) happen all over the place. Word of mouth is faster drawing in people than votes/donation are.
