Has a decision been reached about pre 1.8+ maps?

I'm sure this is a question that's been lingering on everyones minds, What's happening with the 1.8 update (Final and Pre-Release updates (1.8_1))?

I've heard different rumers floating around about this from Keeping the current map and expanding it (Boarders), to running a completely different server for 1.8_1 and on. I'd like to get this sorted, because I want to know for myself and everyone else that plays on here if all our hard work is going to waste?

Personally, I'd like to see us keep the current map, however, I know for a fact the server has been struggling with the current map size in peek server use times because of the amount it has to update constantly.

Anyway, would just be so nice to be informed about what's happening as a deffinant instead of speculations floating about.

As far as map size is concerned, the server has enough spare resources to cope with a map 4-5x the size of the current one. The problem is the plugins.

Orc, reset the chaos at both 1.8 AND 1.9, than make one of the spawn shops sell the new shit.
