Orrr you could just drag the older version into the same folder as the current minecraft.jar and rewrite it?

Download the old .jar, drag it into the %appdata%\.minecraft\bin folder. Click yes when it asks if you want to overwrite. That's it.

There's a third party launcher that asks you if you want to update. It's great. I'll post the link when I find it.

Type into your start menu the following text in bold:

    %appdata%\.minecraft\bin

This will bring up one folder which says 'bin' This is PART of your minecraft folder, just to get into it on the SMP version.

Once you've got the the folder open, replace the minecraft.jar with the old minecraft.jar by re-writing the file. (This will pop up as it has the same name "minecraft.jar" but it is an older version allowing you to play!)

To download the old minecraft.jar go to the main Home page of these forums and a download link is there.

This... is more simple than you think.

This might derail the thread, but is that team viewer thing free in the full version?

Also, the reason why it only says "minecraft" instead of "minecraft.jar" is because you have "hide extensions of known file types" checked under Folder options in the control panel.

save the minecraft.jar file given to you by orcworm in a folder... then whenever u have trouble just copy and past into ur bin again Very Happy

so u wont have to keep downloading the file Smile

just saying.. thats what i do...

well unless the orcworm file gets updated Smile
