Magic Carpet sucks!

So i just donated and i have realised that magic carpet totally sucks. I think it should be replaced with another command.

Can you possible explain why magic carpet sucks? I like it and don't have a problem with it. If you are trying to get rid of something or convince some one of some thing you should go more indepth than to say "(insert some thing here) sucks. We should get rid of it." because of you dont people (kinda like me) will come and pick you and your crappy argument apart. Give reasoning for your belief!

Magic carpet sucks because it is very laggy and dosn't work very well. Also another idea is when we donate we get to choose either magic carpet or some other command.

i think magiccarpet is fine so far you are the only one complaining about it

Yeah, it sucks, it causes lag. But if you donators can find something else that you'd prefer - that would be lag-free - then feel free to suggest it.

Im going to start guessing as you have once again provided a weak argument with very little detail im going to assume you are probably falling off the carpet when running or walking. That is probably more of a connectivity/lag issue not the plugin it's self. On times of bad lag I find using /mc 15 This Works because it increases the size of the carpet so even of your lagging it will keep up even if you sprint. Further more if problems persist you probably need to get better Internet.

It causes serverside lag too..

Fly mod I know it sounds a bit far fetched but maybe you could limit the speed.

Well I've had a lot of experience with Magic Carpet and I have to say that it is fairly good at times, but has caused glitches and TONS of complaints...
I will keep my eye out for another command like MC if I see one.

I think that MC works fine, yeah there are some lag isues with it, but be glad you're getting something. You donate to keep the server going, the donator stuff is just Orcs way of saying "Thanks for keeping the server going.".

Magic carpet is the single command that is completely reliant on your connection to the server, I imagine anything over about 60ms will cause noticeable problems when using it. Block breaking for example is fine until about 150ms.

How will we mine massive amounts of glow stone from the nether without our magic carpet to get to the ceiling and shield us from ghast bombs?!?!

I think it's intentional that magic carpet is so bulky and slow, makes it harder to abuse

I don't think it needs to be replaced. It is useful for building tall structures, you just have to move slowly. I am in favor of adding additional commands, though. One such would be the ability to teleport to specific coordinates. This would be useful for those of us that like to explore the map alot and go back to areas with lots of resources. I realize we have /pw for this, but that has a limit and I think it would also be nice to be able to explore random locations across the map.

With that said (and whether or not the /tpcord would interest anyone), I'd also like to see bigger donator packages. Currently, at 15 pounds you're maxed out. Why not a 25 pounds or even 50 pounds package with additional perks?

I am bewildered now by what the /tp 1000,1000,1000 thing does.

Every donator will be rushing to 1000, 1000, 1000 now, I assumed you all knew you could tp to co ords.

I didn't know that! Makes me wonder what else I can do that I don't know about. :p

I've already done it, I have been bemused by the 1000 thing since I found out about tp co-ords. First things I tp'd to were 0, 1, 10, 100 and 1000.

How exactly does /tp * get you demoted?

/tp astisk gets you banned because it tp's everyone to you

try /tphere * when there are 40+ people online xD

in most computing languages * is a wildcard meaning it can be equal to anything so basically * = all.

Not sure what /tp * would do, would it make you teleport simultaneously to every player? o.O

I prefer /slap *, makes for some good entertainment

Why would you want to harvest glowstone in the first place? Soulsand is available in much larger quantities, easier to harvest, and gives a 100% return rate, rather than the extremely low rate you get from smashing glowstone.

I don't like the /mc command due to the lag i get. It causes me to fall of alot it's a pain in the ass to rise because everytime jump I fall through. Not to mention you can't build with a giant glass carpet in the way.

I'm assuming theres a way to give people the power of creative mode flight without giving them its other powers.

Either way, /mc sucks.

That's because you're playing as if you're on LAN with 0-1ms, it doesn't work like that when the server's 5000 miles away. ;p

orcwormy, since you helped me with permissions, I found a rather nice working plugin that may add some ease to your life, incase you are tired of donators asking for their names to be colored:

Simply add the nodes colorme.list and colorme.self to the 15£ donators permissions and you'll never have to go coloring their names in iChat (or whatever you use) again.
